Extreme Makeover: Me Edition!

Hello everyone! I feel like I've been such a boring blogger lately, and haven't been by to visit as many of you as I'd like. I miss you guys! Today I'm hoping to make it around to everyone I've been missing!

I love Wednesdays, and connecting with everyone at EM:ME hosted by the amazing Amber ,to give and receive motivation and inspiration in my quest to be fit (and hot!). If you'd like to join in, just head over to Amber's to see what it's all about!

This week's question:

Show us your inspiration picture. Of yourself skinny, of yourself fat, of a celebrity that inspires you to keep going.

I have the following 2 pictures taped up on my treadmill. They are a constant reminder to me that No, my 1 hr is NOT up, and Yes...I can do this!

I think Jessica Alba is beautiful, and as close to physical perfection as one can get! I remember an interview with her once when she was in Dark Angel, and she was asked how she kept in such good shape. I just remember being so impressed with her answer. It was all about healthy choices...no extreme dieting, or deprivation. Just good food choices and regular exercise.

I look at these pictures on my treadmill when I'm feeling like I want to quit early and I remember that the harder I work, the sooner I will look the way I'd like.

Not like HER maybe, but it's still inspirational to look at someone who's in fantastic shape!

I was gonna post the photos (some of you may remember them) of when I photoshopped my face onto J.A.'s body, but I actually think my face looks a lot thinner now than in that picture...yay!

My progress...well I have joined with Amber in her quest to exercise every weekday in the Month of May. I missed Friday...don't hate me Amber! But in my defense...I was really sick! I just couldn't talk myself into climbing onto that treadmill! I did walk on Saturday though!

I did increase my walking pace to 3.3 mph. I didn't even notice the difference...so why did I have such a hard time increasing to 3.4?

I ate a lot more fruit, mainly because for Mother's Day Dinner at my mom's she had a bunch of fresh cut fruit, and sent a lot of leftovers home with us!

More sleep....let's just say I get a big, fat F in that department! I just have such a hard time going to bed. Night time is my quiet peaceful me-time. Hubby's at work, the kids are asleep and I am so reluctant to close my eyes on all the alone time! I only went to bed before 11 one time last week....that was on Friday when I was so sick. I went to bed at 10.

I am down 2 more pounds, so I am happy about that. Down 20 lbs would be better, but whatever.

Goals for this week: Increase walking pace to 3.4, attempt (again) to add some strength training to my workouts, and go to bed by 11 at least 3 times!

Thanks everyone for all your encouragement and support each week...I love you!
The great thing in this world is not where we are but the direction in which we are moving.

Way to go -- can't wait to get my treadmill!
Great job! I completely understand about the alone time. That stuff is golden.
Keep up the good work. (And yes, Ms. Alba is pretty darn close to physical perfection.)
Woohoo on the 2 pounds! I can understand not going to bed early if it's your only quiet time. My husband works every third day (and night), and sometimes I have to force myself to go to bed (even if I'm exhausted) because the peace is just too tempting to not take advantage of it! For me, though, if I'm overly tired, I tend to eat more. I don't know why that is, but it just seems like if I keep eating it will make me more alert (heavier maybe, but not more alert). Anyway, congrats on a great week! I'm so impressed that you're exercising nearly every day!
I just got my coasters in the mail! I LOVE THEM! They are going to be so perfect in my new house...When the house is done that is! Thank you so much! They are beautiful.
Great job!!! 2 pounds is 2 pounds! :) I am the same way about going to bed...it's tough when that's the only "me" time I get! :)

Can you believe it's almost time for SYTYCD??? Just wait til you see the videos (yes, more than 1!) for next week! :)

Way to go girl. I would put up the before and after of some of the Biggest loser contestants. Wowzer. That really inspires a person.

Love your bucket filler and keep taking the pounds off.

Hi! Thanks for coming over to my blog to say hi and to encourage me. I'm starting to enjoy the wii fit more - it really is fun.

An HOUR on the treadmill - good for you! And I'm with you on the wanting to stay up later than anyone else for the peace and quiet. But sleep is good. :)

Keep it up!

Hmmm...I try not to compare myself to celebrities. I mean, they have 8-hour personal trainer sessions and dieticians, etc. It's really not fair. sigh.

Good job on the 2 pounds. I love the idea of the pics on the treadmill. Why is it so much easier to eat the fruit when its all prepared and easy to cut up? And yet so hard to make yourself (myself) cut it up!
Keep up the great work and press on. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

I'm so proud of you! 2 pounds is already 10% of that 20 -- that's great progress! Hooray for you!!!

Love the bucket filler today. Like doesn't really matter where you are on the path... as long as you are on the path!

You're doing awesome!! I finally decided to get back on it and start shedding a few pounds of my own. I'll be looking to you for some motivation. ;) Great job on setting some goals...I should really work on the earlier to bed thing for sure! Keep it up!

2 pounds is awesome!! Of course I don't hate you, lol! One of the nights I'm still feeling guilty about, b/c I still can't justify what I tried to consider a workout. BUT, it was still better than nothing, and I'm definitely making up for it this week.

I called this morning to schedule my surgery for my wisdom teeth, and they're doing it NEXT Wednesday!!! I'm so stinkin nervous!! That said, I may have to miss a day or 2 of working out, and make it up another day. I hate that!

Way to go Xazmin!! 2 lbs. is great!! I have been doing the same thing. Staying up a little later than I want to because it's my alone time and I cherish it so much.

Way to go staying on track for Mother's Day!! Keep up the great work.

Much love from NJ,

Wonderful job on losing 2 more pounds!! You can do it!!! I totally understand about alone time. It is a double edge sword for me because if I do go to bed early I wake up in the middle of the night thinking of all the stuff I could of done if I had just stayed up!!

Keep up the great work and have a wonderful weekend. Also, I will be back this month for Mod Podge Mania!!!!
Woo-hoo for you!! I, too, would love to look even slightly like JA in the body department. Being sensible and healthy is the best way to go. Good luck with increasing your speed!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t
