Not just a slacker, but a liar as well?

Okay, who's a slacker? I am! I am! But who loves me anyway? You do! You do! You do....right? Vivienne tagged me in the fun blog game "5 truths and a lie". Basically I'm going to share 6 things about myself. 5 of them are true. Your challenge is to guess the one that is false. You ready? I've decided to follow the "scandalous" theme that I've seen a few others do.... 1. I used to sneak out the bedroom window in the middle of the night to go meet my boyfriend and then sneak back in before morning. 2. I once kissed 2 different boys in the same night. And they were best friends. 3. I met my husband when I was 18 - cruising State Street, and he came back to my friends house with me and stayed all night. 4.I believe in, and practiced abstinence before marriage. 5. I kissed my best friend's boyfriend at the baseball park one night when they were in a fight. 6. I had a boyfriend at the time I met my husband. Well, now that you've completely

It's in the cards

I've been waiting for this day to come, ever since Amanda told me she was going to have this party! It's a crafty cutter love party! I scored my Cricut a few years ago on Black Friday...I got $600 worth of product for $200! Merry Christmas to me! The last time I participated in a blog swap was AGES ago...but I think my swap partner totally scored. One of the items I included was a set of all occasion cards, handmade by yours truly. I had a blast being creative with my Cricut: I have one cartridge that I particularly love - I use it most of the time. It is called "Walk in my Garden". It has all sorts of adorable flowers and little garden bugs. SO CUTE! I don't have any great tips or tricks. I like dimension on my paper crafts, so I am crazy for the 3D adhesive foam dots and squares - you can pick them up for cheap at Walmart. They just add a little pop to your project. And everyone loves to get a handmade card...don't you think? I know I do! I'

The Bomb is Back!

I know I'm a day late (and believe me, I am WAY more than a dollar short!), but I still wanted to link up with MiMi . Because she's my favorite. And because I told her I would, and I don't like to be a liar. And I also don't want her to beat me up. I'm pretty sure she could. I'm sorta a wimp. ANYWAY.... Here's my F-bomb. The other week, hubs was on his way to a job. Down in Utah County...about 30 minutes south of where we live. He was driving his big full size van, and pulling the trailer full of equipment as well. The stupid dang crappy winter weather had reappeared - to my dismay. The snow-storm alone was f-bomb enough for me. I was at home wasting time working on the computer, when I get a text: "just rear-ended a lady". Wonderful. When I finally got to talk to him I learned that there were 8 accidents on that stretch so far that morning. Apparently the sun was blinding, and people lost sight of the road and other cars. add that to s

Please pass the Chocolate...

Ya'll thought I forgot about posting about Pixie's Chocolate Birthday party, didn't you? Well I may be a slacker, but I am not a LIAR! We had a hard time coming up with a theme for her party, because it was boys and girls being invited, and of course the boys probably wouldn't appreciate a princess party, or a purse party (Pixie's original request), or any of the other popular themes girls like to have at their party. We ended up going with a chocolate theme. The first order of business was to make invitations. Even at the time I was making the invites, I still wasn't sure what exactly we would do at the party, but I figured inspiration would hit at some point between delivery of the invitations, and the actual time of the party! I wanted to do chocolate bar invitations, and just replace the labels with some I made myself with the party info included. I gathered some cute scrapbook paper: And printed up some labels that had all the party info: Of course, then

Friday Confessional

I'm linking up again with Friday Confessional . I wonder how many friends I'll lose this week? I confess.... I wasn't supposed to have a Dr. Pepper until Valentines day...but a couple weeks ago when my cousin came over to hang out, she bought me one - and I totally caved. I confess... I totally slipped my newly single girlfriend's number to the hot guy at the sports shop in the mall we went to yesterday. Now I am regretting it, because I feel like it was so high school, and he probably thinks I'm an idiot. My second mistake was admitting it to her. So now if he doesn't call - she will feel rejected. I want to smack myself sometimes. I confess... I think I need Depends for when I go running because I have such a leaky bladder. Seriously. I confess... My husband is a way better husband to me than I am a wife to him. I should really work on that. I confess... After last week's insanity, I have been a total bum this week. Like a serious bum - I have acco

Her Special Day

We had quite the week last week. Our sweet Pixie turned 8. She was baptized 2 days later by her father, and what a beautiful day it was. I'm so excited to share it with my friends, and also record it for my family history. Before I start, I have many blog friends who are members of my faith, and sometimes I forget that all the "Mormon lingo" doesn't always translate to my friends who are not. I will try to add links where I think it would be helpful if people would like a better explanation of what I am talking about. Or you can email me if you have a question. If you don't like religious posts you might wanna skip this one. But it's who I am, and this blog is about my life - so I throw 'em in every now and then. Just sayin'. Getting ready to be baptized. I'm so blessed to be married to a good, worthy man who is able to baptize my children, and bless our family. Hubby and I were especially privileged, because as a member of the bishopric ,

I'm here!

I did not fall off the face of the earth! Promise! You see, I was internet-less again for a couple of days, and then last week was seriously the most insane week I've had in I can't remember how long! My sweet Pixie turned 8....then was baptized 2 days later. So I had a bunch of kids over for a party on her birthday, then had to clean up THAT mess so I could entertain friends and family 2 days later who were attending her baptism. I sorta just crashed after that. But I'm back! And I have lots of stuff to tell you about. Tomorrow I'll show you the pictures from Pixie's baptism - it was such a beautiful day. On Thursday I'm going to share her Chocolate Birthday party! It was a lot of fun. So just wanted to check in, let you know I'm still here - and I'll be making my way around to visit all of you! I know you all thought I was turning back into the slacker blogger - but not so! Hope y'all are having a great week!
