This Is The Year

Okay...I know we're all just gettin' in the groove for Fall...and I don't want to skip it...for sure - I love it too much! But I just found this Christmas Blog (Christmas is the best thing on the planet!), actually she found me, and she is having a fabulous giveaway! It's for $100 worth of Christmas ornaments! Don't ya just love the dollar store? We just got back from a little family excursion (minus husband). The kids each got to take one of their dollars and pick something out. This is like the best thing ever, because we don't let them spend their money very often...we make 'em save it! Cowgirl was super excited, because she has been looking for a hula hoop ALL. SUMMER. LONG! They are always sold out whenever we are at any store that carries them. Anyway...we go down the first aisle at the DT and whadayaknow? There's a whole big box of hula hoops in various colors and sizes! She keeps telling everyone it was a miracle from Heaven! Pixie found a lovely (not) bright orange hair piece connected to a headband. It even has long sparkly strands of tinsel throughout! She looks well...there are no words. Monkey picked a fabulous pair of plastic glass slippers, with a huge beautiful bow and jewel in the middle. She put them on imediately upon walking into our house! Bookworm spent...

Are you ready? Well I hope so, because I have had quite the time putting MPM together this month! The project I had in mind was a bust. I hope to have it done for next month, but it's a little bit more project than I had time to do, and my Monkey has been sick, so trying to actually accomplish something with her clinging to me, and crying for me to hold her was a little difficult. Last night I finally had to throw in the towel on that project (for now). Then I came up with another project, and it was quite simple, and relatively quick. But I have now spent the last 2 hours trying to load my pictures! For some reason my computer is having difficulty reading my new memory card. I'm not sure if it's the computer, or the card! I decided to put one of my old frames to good use, you know the ones that haven't hung in your house for ages, but it's a good frame, so you don't want to just throw it out! I did a quick spray paint job on the frame - I love Rustoleum Espress...

I've missed the past 2 weeks of FMM hosted by Kasey at All That is Good ...I've missed connecting with everyone who participates! But I'm back...Yay! This week's task is to name 10 things you love about Summer. 1. Barbecues...I looooove me a grilled burger with all the fixin's. Not to mention all the other bbq goodies...deviled eggs, yummy salads and desserts galore! 2. I n D e p e N d e n C e D a y . I am all over this celebration. I love the chance to reflect on all that has come to pass to make it possible for me to enjoy the freedoms and privileges that I take advantage of every day. I love discussing with my children the birth of this great nation, and the sacrifices of those great men whom we call "Founding Fathers". Fireworks are ALWAYS a must see for this family, we enjoy them every year! 3. Camping. I love being in the mountains, the smell of campfire, the sound of a rushing river...I can't wait to get out there! 4. Hot summer nights...

It's time for Friend Makin' Monday y'all! I'm so glad Kasey started this whole thing up so I could meet so many wonderful new friends!
