Friend Makin' Monday...how I've missed you!

I've missed the past 2 weeks of FMM hosted by Kasey at All That is Good...I've missed connecting with everyone who participates! But I'm back...Yay!

This week's task is to name 10 things you love about Summer.

1. Barbecues...I looooove me a grilled burger with all the fixin's. Not to mention all the other bbq goodies...deviled eggs, yummy salads and desserts galore!

2. InDepeNdenCe Day. I am all over this celebration. I love the chance to reflect on all that has come to pass to make it possible for me to enjoy the freedoms and privileges that I take advantage of every day. I love discussing with my children the birth of this great nation, and the sacrifices of those great men whom we call "Founding Fathers". Fireworks are ALWAYS a must see for this family, we enjoy them every year!

3. Camping. I love being in the mountains, the smell of campfire, the sound of a rushing river...I can't wait to get out there!

4. Hot summer nights. I really love how you can be out at 11 at night, without a jacket, a warm breeze blowing on your face. I met my husband on a night like this, and the night time in summer always brings back those memories!

5. Little brown kids! I use sunscreen on my children faithfully, but that doesn't stop the gradual bronzing they acquire the more they play outside. I love how I'll just look at them one day and think...my they've gotten brown!

6. Summer rain

7. The laughter of kids in the neighborhood

8. So You Think You Can Dance!

9. Family Reunions

10. water fights!

What do you love about summer? Make sure to visit Kasey's and link up to play!

Isn't food at a bbq just the best! I always over eat and then crash for a nap! I also love homemade ice cream at my bbqs. It's so yummy! We've missed you! Glad you're back!
Independance Day is my fav holiday!! And as my kids get older, I am enjoying making certain they understand what we are celebrating too!

My kids get super tan too- no matter how much sunscreen I put on them!! Summer is the BEST.

I need your advice on my latest post- when you have a second, would you mind stopping by? Thanks!

You gotta love the little brown children ;) My girls are usually pretty pasty during the winter months, but they sure know how to get a tan ;)

I love the camping stuff too! And those warm evenings bring out the romance for everyone, I think. :)
Oh man, I love all of those things too!! This is the second one I've read today and I want to play next Monday.

The warm summer nights reminds me of when hubby and I were dating. We used to go to the golf course around 11 pm. It was so beautiful and romantic.

Have a great Monday!!

Those all are great! I love summer rain only when it's warm. Living in the northwest, often our summer rain is still chilly and icky. I'm so excited for summer!
Love your list! BBQs and So You Think You Can Dance are some of the best things of the summer!

Happy FFM!

I love the smell of summer rain, yes I know it's weird!

Right now our kids look like they have a ring of dirt around their necks since their necks are brown, but their backs are white still! I'm sure it will all even out soon.

Yayyy for long, warm summer nights and camping! :)
I love the hot summer nights too. I love walking out of a movie theater with the air conditioning into a warm dark night. Feels so good. Or going for a walk at night after the sun has gone down.

Happy FMM!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t

The click, click of the keyboard beneath my fingers! 2. back massage from my husband - he has magic hands! 3. an ice cold soda can on the back of my neck on a hot summer day! 4.Hot showers Dislike: Hot glue on my fingertips! Occupational hazard for me! Sound 1. My baby (okay she's 2 now!) whispering "secrets" in my ear. 2. My kiddo's giggles. 3. My husband's singing. He has a very nice si

Mod Podge Mania!

I am so super excited for our first edition of Mod Podge Mania! I love this stuff, and I LOVE getting new ideas for how to use it...so hopefully this will be a great place for "inspiration" where we can all get some fun new ideas! So here's how it will work. Post about a project on your blog, along with instructions on how you created your mod podge masterpiece! OR you can do a post featuring a project you have seen someone else do, just to pass the idea along. Just make sure you give credit where credit is due! Also, make sure to include a link back to my blog in your post! Next, link up by entering your name and copying the URL to your post into Mr. Linky - he's waiting at the bottom of this post. It would be helpful if you put the name of your project along with your name so people will know what they are coming to look at!
