Mod Podge Mania! YAY!

Welcome! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer...mine already seems jam packed with activities and commitments! Does it never end? Please forgive me for my negligence in getting around to visit everyone...I'm trying! But I never seem to be caught up!

I hope you've all managed to squeeze some time in to get a Mod Podge project done for Mod Podge Mania! I just LOVE seeing all your creative ideas!

This month I wanted to share with you the gift I made for my little brother and his wife for the grocery bridal shower (fun, huh?) her family threw. I promised way back when I first started that I would share, and I finished the gift, and gave it away without taking pictures! My brother finally got around to snapping some for me and emailing them to me!

My mother and I have gone through our recipe collections, picked out our favorites and she has typed them up and printed them onto 4x6 index cards. Then I make these fun little recipe tins...this is our favorite shower gift to give to those we LOVE!

Start out with these plain white tins...you can order them at Oriental Trading Co., or get them in pretty much any craft store.

Then pick out some scrapbook paper you like. You can get these fun coordinating packs for between $10 and $15. This is the paper pack I used for the FOREVER blocks I made for them here. I picked different papers for the recipe box, but I wanted the colors to still coordinate.

The packs have all sorts of fun tags, letters, shapes...and I loved these cool border/strip thingies!

The letter tags were too big for my recipe box, so instead I took some of these word tags, and cut them up to get the letters I needed for my box!

Then I cut the papers down to fit the box, and mod podged away! I layered some different papers, then embellished with all the other fun stuff! I also covered the lid, and tied some coordinating ribbons on the handle. She loved it!

My brother didn't get sufficient pictures, but if you lift the lid, there are cute coordinating little tabs that divide the recipes into different categories (appetizers, Entrees, desserts, etc.)

I keep meaning to make myself one of these...but never get around to it!

Now lets see your creativity! Remember you can link up an old post, or a new one. Just please make sure to link back to my blog so that everyone will know where to come for more great ideas! You may link up as many projects as you'd like. Please take the time to visit as many other Mod Podge Maniacs as you can and leave them some comment love!

Today my baby boy turns 11! INSANE! I'm off to get birthday preparations taken care of...I'll be back later to share all the festivites with you all!

I LOVE that. It's so adorable and I love the tag that says recipes, because I love tags. Great job! I have to post mine too.
Holy cow, that's cute!!! :) I so wish we lived next door to each other (except I wouldn't make you live in the trashy people's house!) so we could do fun crafty stuff together. ;) I don't have any MP projects to share b/c the one I tried awhile back did NOT pan out, but I can't wait to see who links up. :)

Hi Xazmin! I found you via Tatertots & Jello (and found HER via SITS) and I did a mod podge craft for Father's Day. I was so excited to take pics of it because I remembered mod podge mania over here. I linked my page up with Mr Linky.

I actually bought a box a lot like that at a craft show a few years ago. It was for Christmas cards...to organize addresses and stuff. I LOVE that box! I've always thought about making some and never knew where to get the actual box. So cool that you would post this! You did a fantastic job!!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t

Friend Makin' Monday and 100th post giveaway!

I just love Mondays! If you've never heard of Friend Makin' Monday , go to Kasey's to read all the rules and join in! I have met some of my best bloggy friends through FMM ! This week's task is to complete the following tag: 5 Senses Tag We are to list 4 things we love, and one thing we dislike, for each sense. Smell Like: 1. Pot roast in the oven! 2. Sunkissed Citrus Scentsy, and Melon Medley from the Walmart knock-off scents! 3. rubbing alcohol (I know, I need help) 4. along those same lines...nail polish and nail polish remover. Dislike: coffee Touch Like: 1. The click, click of the keyboard beneath my fingers! 2. back massage from my husband - he has magic hands! 3. an ice cold soda can on the back of my neck on a hot summer day! 4.Hot showers Dislike: Hot glue on my fingertips! Occupational hazard for me! Sound 1. My baby (okay she's 2 now!) whispering "secrets" in my ear. 2. My kiddo's giggles. 3. My husband's singing. He has a very nice si

Mod Podge Mania!

I am so super excited for our first edition of Mod Podge Mania! I love this stuff, and I LOVE getting new ideas for how to use it...so hopefully this will be a great place for "inspiration" where we can all get some fun new ideas! So here's how it will work. Post about a project on your blog, along with instructions on how you created your mod podge masterpiece! OR you can do a post featuring a project you have seen someone else do, just to pass the idea along. Just make sure you give credit where credit is due! Also, make sure to include a link back to my blog in your post! Next, link up by entering your name and copying the URL to your post into Mr. Linky - he's waiting at the bottom of this post. It would be helpful if you put the name of your project along with your name so people will know what they are coming to look at! (example: Xazmin - decorative eggs) Last, go check out everyone's fabulous projects and let the inspiration begin! You can link up as
