Extreme Makeover: Me Edition

Hello ladies. Welcome to another edition of EM:ME hosted by the fabulous Amber. Looking to get healthy, and need some support and encouragement? Then you should definitely hop on over to Amber's and check it out!

I don't have a lot of progress to report this week. No loss. No gain. I'm feeling a little frustrated at my stand still. My exercise hasn't been as consistent as I'd like, but I have been able to increase my jogging time and walking speed, thus increasing my over all distance on my treadmill workout. I guess that's something.

I know my inconsistency in exercising is because of my increasingly bad habit of staying up too late (er, early). I can't remember the last time I went to bed before midnight...and it's catching up to me. I know that on the days I'm too tired to get myself motivated to get on the treadmill, that's why. I just need to make a commitment to get to bed...no excuses.

Today's question:

"Who is your biggest supporter/motivator in your weight loss? Do you have anyone around you that tries to sabotage you by "talking" you in to eating the not so good stuff?"

Well, I have to say that I probably get the most encouragement from this weekly feature. I love all the positive feedback and support I get each week. My husband is supportive, but it's hard, because I know that his love for me is unconditional, whether I lose weight or not. I know he wants me to know this and so he just doesn't say much either way. He doesn't want me to feel pressured that if I don't succeed he'll be disappointed in me...so he just doesn't say anything.

As far as sabotage...I'd have to say my brother! You see we have this thing. When he was trying to give up caffeine, I would give him a 6 pack of Mt. Dew for his birthday...stuff like that!

Now that I'm trying to watch what I eat, he'll bring in some scrumptious dessert, eat it in front of me and make "mmmm" sounds while he eats. It's just a brother thing.

It's all good though...it's all in fun. That's just how our relationship is. He's trying to eat healthier now though...not because he needs to lose weight, but he just wants to be healthy, so mostly we "abstain" from the good food together!

I hope you all had a fabulous week and can't wait to come see how you're all doing. Wish me luck on more rest and more consistent exercise this week!

And don't forget that Mod Podge Mania is less than 1 week away! It will be Tuesday, June 30...so please come back and link up your projects!

My mantra..."at least I didn't gain."
My husband is like yours, doesn't say much.
I love that you and your brother do that silly stuff!
I can't wait for Podge Mania! I recently fell in love with the Mod and I can't imagine life without it! :)

My entire family sabotages me. I try to cut back on purchasing the good food, ie; cookies, cakes, candy, etc. but they get a little bugged. I'm the only one that needs to loose weight. It's a problem.

KEEP GOING!!!!

Staying up late after the kids are in bed is one of my favorite things to do, too, but it kills me the next morning. Keep at it - you can do it! :)

I formed the bad habit of staying up late on vacation...bad! Your hubby sounds like mine. Ooh, ooh, I have to link the clipboard that I did to your Mod Podge Mania.
I'd punch my brother in the arm if he did that to me! Chocolate cake is nothing to joke about. ;) ;)

Do you think you've hit that plateau they talk about? Maybe you just need a little jump start???

This is coming from the girl who posted a Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie recipe on her blog yesterday. ;) ;)

I think that is good that you have not changed or gained right? I like your relationship you have with your brother. Have a great day.
You and your brother sounds like you've both read the Sibling Handbook and memorized the Torment the Siblings chapter.

You're doing AWESOME! Just look at it this way...You could have gained, but you didn't...next week will be a great week! You can so do this! Sometimes plateaus just happen, but my suggestion would be to shake things up a bit...that always helps me. If you need motivation or encouragement, I'm just an e-mail (or text) away! :)

Oh, and brothers are sooooo mean sometimes! Boys!

Thanks for talking me into doing an EM:ME post!

Hope you're having a fabulous day!!
It's hard to feel like doing anything when you're tired and not getting enough sleep. And I don't know about you, but I tend to eat more when I'm tired too. It's like I think that if I keep eating it will give me more energy or something ;)

You're doing great! :)

Your brother sounds funny! I have 3 younger sisters. I'm a night owl too but I have put my self on a schedule and plan on sticking to it. I go to bed now before 10 and make myself get up my 8. I'm running the treadmill now -- finally starting to get my energy back -- It makes me feel so good. Keep it up!

My hubs is that way too, doesnt care what I look like either way. But he knows I want to be healthy and he tries to support that...most of the time, when he doesnt have a craving for sweets or fried foods!

I just wanted to stop by and say hi and that I'm thinking about you!!
I know how it is with getting to bed at a decent time. I have a hard time with it too. Once everyone is asleep it's time for me to have some me time. And I enjoy it so much. I love the relationship you have with your brother! It's great! My brother and I kibits with each other the same way.
