My little Cowgirl is sick...

I'm so sad. I hate when my kids are hurting. Sunday night she started complaining that her ear hurt inside. She's had a cold, so I figured she had probably developed an ear infection. I told her if it didn't feel better in the morning we would take her to the doctor.

She came out of her room at 1 a.m., just sobbing because it was hurting her so bad. By 3:30 she still hadn't calmed down. Daddy went to Walmart to get more Tylenol (we gave her the last before bedtime). She finally was back to sleep around 4. But was awake again, in tears by 6. We gave her some more Tylenol (at 7:30 - 4 hours between doses!), and I called our doctor. He was full, so I told her when Daddy got back from taking the kids to school we would take her into the insta care. She said she was feeling a little better, and really didn't want to go to the doctor. I told her I would give her a little while but if it was still hurting we were going in.

As soon as the Tylenol kicked in she was asleep again. She slept the whole day! When she woke up in the afternoon she said it was hurting, but not as bad and she still didn't want to go to the doctor. I shouldn't have given in, because as soon as Hubby left to meet the tax man she started asking to please go to the doctor because it was hurting so bad. At this point I couldn't take her in, because it was almost time to pick up Bookworm from his after-school robotics club (yes he is that big of a nerd - but I love it!) After we picked him up, Daddy was on his way home, ready to take her in.

I told her to go pull her hair back into a ponytail so it wouldn't be in the way, and take a washcloth and carfully clean her ear out a little in case it was yucky inside. She came out and said "mom, look"...there was blood all over the cloth! Now I'm panicked.

Daddy took her in while I stayed home with the other 3. I was so anxious, I couldn't concentrate on getting anything done...not until I knew everything was okay. I was so relieved that they actually didn't have to wait too long, and within the hour we knew that it was just a really bad ear infection. They were going to pick up her anti-biotic on their way home, but she got so sick that she threw up in the parking lot! Poor girl!

She woke up early this morning, and had drained more blood from her ear...it was on her pillow and dried on the side of her face...it was so sad! Sorry if I'm grossing y'all out, just trying to record all the details! She was mad that I didn't let her go to school!

I told her to go lay back down for awhile. By the time I got up to get the other 2 ready for school 20 minutes later, she was already sound asleep! She's still conked out...I don't want to wake her, but she needs to take her medicine...I'll wait for 30 more minutes I guess. Poor baby.

P.S. the links for Mod Podge Mania are back up...I accidentally deleted them when I changed my blog. You can go check out everyone's ideas now, and add your own if you'd like! Be sure to come back on April 30 for our next party!

Oh how awful! I am so sorry to hear this. There is nothing worse than seeing your little ones hurt. Sending many well-wishes your way.

Oh--I really hope that your wee one starts feeling better soon. Nothing is worse than a sick kiddo.
Oh we hate ear infections at our house. My heather used to get them all the time, she finally had to get tubes put in and finally they stopped. My kids used to swim competively year round and swimmers ear would mess up the season. Ear pain hurts so bad...so sorry for your little girl.

There must be something in the air. My little one started getting sick yesterday.
I am so very sorry! That poor thing. How awful she must feel. I used to get bad ear infections as a child and remember being totally miserable. Thank goodness you were able to get her into the doctor and get some help. Hopefully she will be feeling better soon.

Austin has had a fever since LAST Sunday (that's right - we are going on 10 straight days now). We took him in last Friday, but by Sunday he was sobbing about his ear. Sure enough - massive ear infection. It must be going around because Susan said that there are about 5 kids out in Rachael's class with infections. Hopefully, we can finally return to school next week (after a two-week hiatus). Hope she's feeling better soon!
Those ear infections are nasty business. I'm glad she's getting her sleep finally and hope she feels better soon.

Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t
