Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's

Today was the annual Easter egg hunt at my parents house. We have been sooo worried that we'd get rained out! But the clouds smiled down on us and held their rain in, and it was a go!

It was a bit chilly, but remember how when you were a kid it could be 10 degrees or 110, and it didn't matter 'cause you were outside? Why is it, do you think, that as we age, we become more intolerant of the temperatures, and the range in degrees of what we find comfortable gets smaller and smaller?

This year Tanielle brought her family (exept Lexlie, she's sick :( ). My brother also invited some of his friends that he grew up with and their families. These are his little group of friends that were partners in crime, if you will, from grade school on up. It was such a good time catching up with them and seeing all their cute little families. Reminiscing about the good ole days. If you knew my brother, you would know that this included lots and lots of laughter!

And my kids had such a great time with their kids. I'm so mad that in my rush to get there on time, I left my camera home!! I'm so sorry I don't have any fun egg huntin' pictures to share with you all!

All in all it was a wonderful afternoon, and it's so nice to have a day filled with laughter and friends to set a wonderful tone for Easter. I love Easter, and I feel so blessed to have so much family around to celebrate with. Tomorrow we will be heading to Hubby's family's for Easter dinner after church, and the kids always enjoy spending an afternoon with their cousins!

I hope you all are enjoying your Saturday, and have a beautiful Easter Sunday.

Hey, thanks for the comment on my blog...as soon as I hit publish post I wondered about a carpet cleaner or exterminator perhaps reading it. :) ha We actually know the guy...I just lean towards the sarcastic at times.

But the bug guy was totally and completely creepy.

Ask Tanielle, I am a nice person. :) I am her brother's sister-in-law. (he's married to my sister.)

btw...i love your name!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t

This week's task is to complete the following tag: 5 Senses Tag We are to list 4 things we love, and one thing we dislike, for each sense. Smell Like: 1. Pot roast in the oven! 2. Sunkissed Citrus Scentsy, and Melon Medley from the Walmart knock-off scents! 3. rubbing alcohol (I know, I need help) 4. along those same lines...nail polish and nail polish remover. Dislike: coffee Touch Like: 1. The click, click of the keyboard beneath my fingers! 2. back massage from my husband - he has magic hands! 3. an ice cold soda can on the back of my neck on a hot summer day! 4.Hot showers Dislike: Hot glue on my fingertips! Occupational hazard for me! Sound 1. My baby (okay she's 2 now!) whispering "secrets" in my ear. 2. My kiddo's giggles. 3. My husband's singing. He has a very nice si

Mod Podge Mania!

I am so super excited for our first edition of Mod Podge Mania! I love this stuff, and I LOVE getting new ideas for how to use it...so hopefully this will be a great place for "inspiration" where we can all get some fun new ideas! So here's how it will work. Post about a project on your blog, along with instructions on how you created your mod podge masterpiece! OR you can do a post featuring a project you have seen someone else do, just to pass the idea along. Just make sure you give credit where credit is due! Also, make sure to include a link back to my blog in your post! Next, link up by entering your name and copying the URL to your post into Mr. Linky - he's waiting at the bottom of this post.
