Extreme Makeover...Me Edition!

Wow. Well I started my makeover in January, and this is the first time I have ever had 2 bad weeks in a row...Yikes!

The wedding was actually great - The food was good, but so was I! I ate small portions, and on Friday, I was actually down from what I had reported on Wednesday. However...I wasn't quite so good for the weekend! Partly, the busyness of the wedding has kept me from going grocery shopping, and the laziness of the "after the wedding" has kept me from going since then! So I don't have a lot of makeover food in the house right now. I have eaten fast food twice!

I don't know if I'm up this week. Well I'm sure I'm up, because I haven't exercised either!!! But I don't know how much, because I have refused to get on the scale! But no worries...2 bad weeks is not enough to make me give up! And I'll tell you why.

Today Amber asked us about rewards. How do we reward ourselves for health goals met? I need to do better about setting milestones, and rewarding myself along the way...but here are 2 great motivators for me for the long haul:

Remember these?:

These are my reward shoes...when I reach my goal weight I get to wear these, and buy a fabulous new outfit to go with them! Go here if you want to read the whole story.

Also, I've been keeping this a secret...because my mom won't approve! But her computer's broken right now...so can y'all keep a secret? I'm going to see NKOTB in VEGAS BABY!

Shots from the November show.

I've been soooo excited to tell you guys! I was devastated when I saw the tour schedule and learned that they weren't returning here. After I got over the betrayal, I started plotting my next move. The Vegas show is the weekend before my b-day, and Hubby is sending me on a birthday getaway with Tanielle! Happy Birthday To Me! I know the thought of the 2 of us loose in Vegas is frightening - believe me...we're frightened too! I was telling one of my new bloggy friends and fellow NKOTB fan, Jennykate77 that Tanielle and I are already idiots, and when we get together - double idiot! So please pray that we don't end up getting lost, or mugged while we're down there!

We're going in July, and I am determined to be much more fit and trim for this show! I have a picture of Tanielle and I at the show in November, and I would love to get a new shot of our new fabulous selves when we go to Vegas...so I can do some cool before and afters to show you all how hard we've been working!

And I know I need to quit talking about these guys or you will all stop being my friends...I know I have a sickness.

So those are 2 long-term rewards I have in store...Today's a new day, and I am eating right and exercising! And will continue to do so, so that I can report an awsome week to you guys next wednesday!!!

What are some ways you reward yourselves? If you'd like to join Extreme Makeover Me Edition, visit Amber to find out how!

Yay, Vegas! Be prepared to wait for several hours for a cab at the airport, and at your hotel when you check in. I am not a gambler, but I was in Vegas with my husband for his work a few years ago in July. I was pg, so the heat was pretty unbearable (don't plan on walking too far, although they do have misting stations). The big casinos/hotels are really fun to go into...esp. the MGM--they have real lions! You'll have fun!! :)

OK, but the only thing that sounds worse than Las Vegas in July would be seeing NKOTB in Las Vegas in July. :-)

Wow Vegas baby. That's a great reward. My reward is buying some summer capris or pants!! Maybe I should aim higher so it will give me more motivation.

2 weeks is only a blip on the radar. Keep up the good work. It's so hard to stay on track when you don't have anything healthy to grab. I'm speaking from lots of experience of course!!

Much love from NJ,
Sue

I reward myself with food, but now I'm thinking shoes. My husband teases me now as it is and calls me "Imelda". But I think I need to really earn it ;)

Have a great week!!

I'm glad you're not letting 2 weeks of "it could have been better" stop you. You have a goal in mind and it sounds like you're intent on sticking with it! I would love to see the before and after at the NKOTB concert. That would be fun! Good luck and keep on keeping on! ;)

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t

I am so super excited for our first edition of Mod Podge Mania! I love this stuff, and I LOVE getting new ideas for how to use it...so hopefully this will be a great place for "inspiration" where we can all get some fun new ideas! So here's how it will work. Post about a project on your blog, along with instructions on how you created your mod podge masterpiece! OR you can do a post featuring a project you have seen someone else do, just to pass the idea along. Just make sure you give credit where credit is due! Also, make sure to include a link back to my blog in your post! Next, link up by entering your name and copying the URL to your post into Mr. Linky - he's waiting at the bottom of this post. It would be helpful if you put the name of your project along with your name so people will know what they are coming to look at! (example: Xazmin - decorative eggs) Last, go check out everyone's fabulous projects and let the inspiration begin! You can link up as
