I'm so jealous!

Guess who's speaking in Tanielle's ward tomorrow for Sacrament Meeting? President Packer! Isn't that so awesome?

I'm totally jealous. I would probably "visit" her ward tomorrow if I weren't watching Ashie for her - she's still sick and can't go to curch. :( I didn't think Tanielle should miss church tomorrow to stay home with her!

She's so lucky to be able to listen to such an amazing man of God. I've only met one General Authority. Elder Haight had a cabin in the same association where my parents had theirs. We would often be there the same time, and got to meet him a few times!

Do you have a favorite memory of meeting a church leader?

Oh.my.gosh!! I want to be in her ward!! I spoke once at a Stake Basptism and had Elder Brockbank (a long time ago) there listening to me. Thank goodness I didn't know a GA was there.

But I think my favorite meeting was a Young Adult fireside with Elder Tom Perry shortly after he remarried. His first wife had recently passed away. What a tear jerker!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t...

Called To Serve

Detroit, Michigan.  That's where my boy will be serving for the next 2 years.  Perhaps he won't be right in the city the whole time. Perhaps he won't spend any time in the city at all.  But the Michigan, Detroit mission is where he has been called to serve. I don't think it has completely hit me yet.  It's not really possible to comprehend the reality of Kaden being 1,600 miles away for 2 solid years with only written contact except for the 2 times a year he will be able to call/skype home.  Like, I literally can't imagine what it will be like or how it will feel.  I'm sure it's going to be hard at times, that I'll miss him like crazy and just want to hear his voice.  We've always had a close relationship and we talk about anything and everything.  It's hard to imagine only speaking in person 4 times over the next two years. But there is absolutely no place I'd rather have him be, and nothing else I'd rather have him doing than ...
