Thursday Randomness

Just some random tidbits...I don't have anything specific to blog about today.

Did anyone watch So You Think You Can Dance last night? I know YOU did, Amanda! It was fabulous...amazing dancers all around. I never get tired of watching talented people!

I'm already sick of my kids whining and fighting...when does school start again?

It's my husband's birthday on Saturday...I'm not sure what to get for him. We're going small this year...economy and all. Any ideas?

This is hilarious for me, but made my husband really irritated. 2 nights ago on his way home from work (sometime past midnight), he was stopped at a random drunk driving check point. Because of a nerve condition he has which causes the muscles around his left eye some paralysis, including his pupil not dialating at the same rate as his other eye, the officer wouldn't believe him that he hadn't been drinking! He had to do all the sobriety tests, walking the line, touching his nose, breathalyzer...I still laugh thinking about it. What makes it particularly amusing...being LDS, we don't drink AT. ALL. No alcohol...ever. Is it bad to find amusement in your spouse's misfortune?

It's been raining here for a solid week. There are homes that got 9 feet of water in their basements (seriously up to the ceiling). Everything they own...destroyed. Flood insurance is mighty pricey...most people around here don't have it.

I'm going to Girls Camp! More on that later.

I'm sorry that I was such a crabby blogger yesterday and offer my heartfelt apology to all of you.

I'm not worried about Swine Flu, even though 2 children I know have it. This is weird since I am the most paranoid mom ever.

Vivienne makes me laugh every day online, and Tanielle makes me laugh every day on the phone.

I love emailing back and forth with Amanda about So You Think You Can Dance. Well, I love emailing back and forth with her about pretty much anything.

JennyKate's obsession with Edward is not my cup of tea, but her love of New Kids, particularly Joey is right up my alley!

Oh, I just remembered I got tagged by Vivienne last night...I'll bust that out later, when I get back from birthday shopping.

The rain is getting a little old (And I love rain!!) Those poor people in Herriman, I can't even imagine soemthing like that.

School will start soon...have some chocolate!

Your poor hubby. I'm hoping he passed!

Edward, Joey...whatever...just give me some Howie D and I am fine!
You are so cute. I am so glad to have found someone who shares my obsession with the greatest summer television show to have ever graced the screen. I can't even begin to say how excited I am that they're going to do one in the Fall too. Be still my heart??

Predictions?
I think Karla and what's his name will be in the bottom tonight. And maybe Asuka and Vitolio??

I am hoping Evan and Randi stick around. :)

It has been storming here a lot lately too. Sorry to hear about flooding near you.

I did laugh about your husband's sobriety test. We don't drink either.

If it had by my hubby I would of had a good laugh too!

My hubby is turning the big 30 in a couple weeks and I am at a complete loss as to what to get him. Sorry, I'm no help.
I feel like I was just talking to you on the phone!!! How fun to hear all your bits of randomness....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE SYTYCD!!!! My daughter and I watch it faithfully and go to the concert when it comes to own. There were so many good ones yesterday too- it is going to be a great season! I think my fav was the first dance and the bollywood one (can't remember names yet). Which ones did you like?

That is hilarious what happened to your hubs! And it is ok to laugh because my hubs got pulled over the other night for speeding while he was going about 2 miles over to my moms house to get something from her for ME. Oh yeah and he was in pj pants and no shirt! Priceless I tell you!

We have had so much rain too...we have a pump in our basement!

That is crazy you know 2 kids with Swine flu. and that you're not freaked out!
I would soooo be laughing at my Hubs, and I would turn it into a post on my blog as well.
Your comment that I make you laugh totally made my day. Thanks for that. It is mutual admiration.

What a fun night your husband had. Poor guy. Now a gift if he likes to cook out you can do a basket full of all kinds of goodies and add things he likes. I am doing my Round Robin if you want to stop by tomorrow.

Poor Hubby --LOL
Happy Birthday to him Sat.
I call these "Junk Drawer" posts, because it's a collection of random thoughts that really don't have an established place of their own! We love SYTYCD, but all of our tornadoes where evidently more important than broadcasting the whole show last night, so we only got to watch the final few numbers. At least we did not get 9 feet of rain!
I always enjoy reading random posts and I loved this one. Sorry about your husband and his drunk driving. :-) My cousin got pulled over in Pleasant Grove for drinking because she was going slowly at night so she could read the road signs, as she was looking for an address in an unfamiliar area. When she did not test positive for drinking, the officer insisted the test was broken and still arrested her and took her to jail. Imagine that!! She is the most sober, upstanding person I know. Oh well. Something for the journal, I suppose!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t

Post about a project on your blog, along with instructions on how you created your mod podge masterpiece! OR you can do a post featuring a project you have seen someone else do, just to pass the idea along. Just make sure you give credit where credit is due! Also, make sure to include a link back to my blog in your post! Next, link up by entering your name and copying the URL to your post into Mr. Linky - he's waiting at the bottom of this post. It would be helpful if you put the name of your project along with your name so people will know what they are coming to look at! (example: Xazmin - decorative eggs) Last, go check out everyone's fabulous projects and let the inspiration begin! You can link up as
