Just can't live without you....

What are you just NOT willing to give up - Even for the sake of losing weight? That's what Shortmama asks today.

If you've been around for even a little while - you know of my deep and abiding love for Dr. Pepper. Our love affair is so epic that I even got THIS for Christmas from the ever fabulous Tanielle. Yeah, she totally loves me.

I cannot bring myself to give it up. Although I HAVE abstained since New Years Day. That's pretty good for me. I mentioned previously that I have decided to limit my DP drinking to times when I am out to dinner, or somewhere special with hubby. Which will be rare since we hardly ever get a chance to go out!!

The other thing that I just won't sacrifice is salt. I love salt. Salty food is my weakness. I would pass up chocolate cake for french fries any day of the week. I know salt is soooo bad for you, blah, blah, blah.

It can cause high blood pressure. I have the lowest blood pressure ever. Seriously. I have never had high blood pressure in my life. Actually I did ONCE. It was when I had my shoulder issue. If you want all the painful details click here. The doctor said the high pain level had increased my blood pressure. It quickly dropped when the pain was lessened.

Other than that I have such good blood pressure that I actually get COMPLIMENTS when I'm pregnant and go in for my check ups. Seriously like - "what perfect blood pressure you have...good job!" As if I had accomplished this great feat. So blood pressure - not really a worry of mine.

Salt can also cause water retention. I counter that by drinking TONS of water. It makes me pee a LOT - so I'm pretty sure that diminishes or eliminates the water retention issue. At least that's what I tell myself.

So far I have only missed one Saturday of exercising since Kimberly and I started walk/running together. We also take Sundays off. But I'm feeling great about our progress, and my personal commitment! 5 K here we come! And also...CUTE CLOTHES! Oh yeah...and better health. :)

What are you just not willing to go without? Head over to Shortmama's and link up!

I am not willing to live without caffeinated drinks. I'm like you in that respect...I have great blood pressure and drink lots of water. I limit my caffeine, but I can't do without it. ;)

When you come to Portland I'm going to buy you a DP.
I love my DP too, although I am limiting it in the same way you are - only if we are out at a restaurant for dinner, which is almost never! The one thing I refuse to give up, is my morning coffee with Splenda and Hazelnut creamer. Although, it DOES go into my daily calorie count. It's totally worth the 70 calories. I also have to have an occasional piece of chocolate, which also goes into my calorie count. :)

You sound like me! DP for sure! I too, could never give up french fries...or potato chips. But, luckily, I am also a freak of nature with beautifully perfect blood pressure.

I'm sure there are people out there who hate us both. :)

I used to be a DP addict too...no idea even how I quite. Seems like forever ago! Now we usually only keep Pepsi in the house because thats what Levi drinks so if Im TOTALLY Jonesing for a soda I will have one
I don't like soda at all, so I don't get the Dr. Pepper thing. However, I would not give up wine, so I guess to each, her own.

You know my love is Diet Dr. Pepper {DDP} and a RT. 44 DDP from Sonic is the best!

I'm trying to cut back and have gotten so much better, although I did indulge in one today, but now I cannot finish the entire thing, before I could have easily drank 2 or 3 a day!
So cute! I might need to make a DC version of these - lol!

I shared it on my TT&J facebook page and linked to you :)

umm...i NEED that necklace but it has to be diet Pepsi.

sounds like you have a good plan!
Well, we have opposite issues. I HARDLY EVER drink pop and I would pass up salty for chocolate any day! But, when I'm out eating some tasty Mexican food, I always salt the chips. That's pretty bad but it makes them taste 10X's better!

So, basically, I'm not willing to give up my chocolate fixes. I don't have them every day but if I need chocolate, I always have some in my secret special place! =)

Salt is my last weakness. That and pasta. I have been eating whole wheat pasta for this Challenge thingey, it SUCKS. I have already given up soda, completely. I have already given up white flour temporarily. I can't live like this forever, but it is a good little kick start to my fitness goals.
I have already lost about 5-6 pounds.
Can't wait to see what happens when I can skate again.
