Say my name, Say my name....and other business

Well, if I were to get a dollar for every time I have been asked how to pronounce my name since I've started blogging...I'd be able to get Cowgirl's bedroom finished no problem!! I know I have tried to type it out phonetically for people, but it just looks weird. I mean, I know it already DOES look weird anyway...but hey - my mom's fault. Not mine.

So many inquiries have not received a suitable reply. I decided that ya'll needed to just HEAR someone say it. So, I enlisted the aid of my favorite Monkey, and here you have it:

Just in case you didn't catch it: hoz-meen

This name has been the curse of my life. I am not even kidding. The nicknames the boys came up with to tease me...I had one that followed me all the way through High School! It was given to me by a group of boys when a substitute in Middle School (don't even get me STARTED on the hell that was getting a new teacher for the first time, or having a substitute) slaughtered my name during role call. Then followed me to High School. I then had boys who didn't even go to Middle School with us start calling me that! And the final proof is in my yearbook from SENIOR year when someone who didn't even know how I GOT that nick name wrote it in my yearbook when he signed it. It wasn't a mean nick name - just making fun of the way the teacher pronounced it, and it stuck. Love you mom - and I know you love my name and are so proud of it - but I'm just saying like it is...from my perspective!

Now that that item of business is out of the way, here's a few more:

Want to play a fun blog game with the possibility of winning a great prize? Check THIS out.

Want to win a Silhouette cutting machine? There are 3 different giveaways going on: here, here, and here! I KNOW, right? 3 chances to win! But I would really appreciate it if you didn't click any of the links, cuz I really, REALLY wanna win!

I think that's everything for today...Don't forget Mod Podge Mania coming up January 30! Hope you all have a fabulous project planned to share!

I had no idea how to pronounce your name and I'm happy that when I now read it, I can say it to myself the correct way.

Thanks for the shout out, friend! You rock!
Dangit. I've been saying your name wrong in my head for 2 years now. I was saying "Zazmin." I like your name better. ;)
I'm a dork! I've been saying it "YAZMIN". DURN! I apologize and promise to never mispronounce it again!!!

I knew! I knew!
Seriously though, Monkey is the second cutest four year old I know. She and my Bumblebee are going to be a force to be reckoned with in a few years.

I know, everyone is saying it, but that really is a beautiful name! And also, I was pronouncing it totally wrong, so thanks for the help! With a name like Sarah, I've never experienced a teacher--or anyone else--killing my name and I've always been a little jealous of unique names.
Your little monkey is adorable! Jennykate told me how to say it the other day but I loved that you posted about it. I was totally butchering it all up.

Sorry about that.

I'm good now though.

You know even though we had a whole facebook chat about your name & how it came about, how to say it I STILL was saying it wrong. I am such a loser. I think your name is beautiful & I LOOVE the way it is spelled :)
Oh & Ohhhhh my goodness, could your little Monkey be any cuter??? Seriously though, how did she get that blonde hair?

All this time I've been calling you Yasmine . . . I guess I just should've asked! ;) Thanks for clearing that up . . . in the most adorable way!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t
