Friend Makin' Monday...Survey time!!!

I love me a good survey! And yes, that is supposed to be a picture of me thinking...I actually do that sometimes.

FMM: A Survey

  1. Why do you blog? I started blogging for the purpose of getting more exposure for my business. That quickly changed. Now I just love enjoying the friendships I've made, while at the same time journaling my life, and that of my family.
  2. What is your favorite TV show? Hawaii Five-O baby! Best show that's been on in YEARS!!
  3. What's the first thing you drank this morning? Water
  4. Are you married, single or in a relationship? Married - 15 years now!
  5. List three of your hobbies. Crafting, reading, playing the piano
  6. What do you like most about yourself? I think I have a lot of integrity.
  7. List a couple of your favorite sites: Well, blogger, of course. FB, and the iTunes store!
  8. What's the last book you read? It's been such a long time since I've finished a book. But I am working on John Adams by David McCullough, as well as No Apology: The Case for American Greatnes by Mitt Romney. I sorta love him.
  9. Can you whistle? Nope.
  10. List your favorite pro sports teams. Utah Jazz, and ReAL Salt Lake.
  11. What's the last thing that made you smile? A text I got from a friend.
  12. Do you prefer mayo or mustard? Mustard
  13. Do you have a crush on someone? Always.
  14. Do you get up early or sleep in? I have to usually get up early to get my kids off to school, but I sleep in whenever I can...and have even been guilty of going back to bed after the kids leave! Don't judge.
  15. Do you attend church? Yes - weekly.
  16. Would you rather see a movie at home or in the theater? The theater. Without my kids.
  17. Was there a teacher or authority figure that ever truly stood out to you? Yes.
  18. What is your favorite game? Settlers of Catan, and the Cities and Knights variation is my favorite.
  19. Cupcake or potato chips? Potato chips for sure. I like salt.
  20. Tell us something random that we wouldn't know to ask. Yesterday my 4 year old told her teacher in church that I steal things every time I go to the store. Which I don't BTW! Thanks Monkey.
Now you know all about me...I want to know about you! Go link up at All The Weigh and make some new friends!!

Don't forget Mod Podge Mania is just around the corner - I hope you'll come play! And come back tomorrow if you've always wondered how to pronounce my name!!

Love your answers!

My oldest, when she was about 4, told a cop in line at Target that I lock her in the trunk when she's bad! Oh Lawdy I thought for sure I was about to watch my precious little girl be taken from me right and have the cuffs slapped on my wrists! It's a good thing he was able to see the truth, I'm sure her evil little giggle and the look of complete horror on mine and my MIL face helped!

I CAN'T WHISTLE EITHER!!! I'm not even kidding...
And, if we ever meet IRL, we totally need to play Settlers. I suck royally at it, but I get such a kick out of it.

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t...

Called To Serve

Detroit, Michigan.  That's where my boy will be serving for the next 2 years.  Perhaps he won't be right in the city the whole time. Perhaps he won't spend any time in the city at all.  But the Michigan, Detroit mission is where he has been called to serve. I don't think it has completely hit me yet.  It's not really possible to comprehend the reality of Kaden being 1,600 miles away for 2 solid years with only written contact except for the 2 times a year he will be able to call/skype home.  Like, I literally can't imagine what it will be like or how it will feel.  I'm sure it's going to be hard at times, that I'll miss him like crazy and just want to hear his voice.  We've always had a close relationship and we talk about anything and everything.  It's hard to imagine only speaking in person 4 times over the next two years. But there is absolutely no place I'd rather have him be, and nothing else I'd rather have him doing than ...
