27 Days of Thankful #21 and #22

Boy do I have a lot to be thankful for today.

First for old friends and new. I recently got back in touch with "M" - he was my best friend for 3 years of Hell High School. Before now I hadn't seen him for almost 11 years...he came to my wedding, then he went on his mission. I saw him one more time after he returned home, he stopped by to visit and see our new baby. And then we sorta lost touch. Until now....AND I got a new friend out of it.

We went to M's home for dinner last night...and I got to meet his fabulous wife...she's "M" too! They're M&M...I can't believe I didn't say that to them last night! Anyway...M (her) and I really hit it off. We're kinda the same person. We have very similar views on so many things from how High School was stupid and people who want to go back are crazy...to our slightly psycho/paranoid approach to motherhood! Their 2 children are the same ages as our 2 youngest and they absolutely had a ball together! Oh and Hubby and M (him) got along great too. I am so thankful for an old friendship rekindled and a new friendship found!

Now for the news that I'm thrilled to share. Thank you all for your kind words, and your prayers for my friends K and S. I'm so happy to tell you all that S was released from the hospital yesterday. She still has a long road ahead of her to full recovery - but she gets to be home, where she belongs, with her husband and her babies. She is being treated for bacterial pneumonia right now, but she is able to walk with the assistance of a walker. I chatted with K on her last night in the hospital. He seemed so tired and worried. He didn't know she would be coming home the next day. His FB post that next morning was so overjoyed and relieved...even though I was home alone...it put a HUGE smile on my face. Today I am so thankful for the power of prayer. For I know that it was through the many prayers of people who know and love them, as well as people who had only heard about their situation, that S was able to make such an improvement.

Like I said. I have a lot to be thankful for today. Please head over to my friend Amanda's to experience more gratitude!

How cool that you rekindled an old/new friendship. I am soooo wishing T and I had more couple friends. It would be nice to double date. :)

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t...
