A week of firsts....

Things I did this past week, that I have never done before:

Purchased a pair of dress-flats.

Flew on an airplane.

Was violated by the pornographic airport scanning machine.

Spent more than 1 night away from my girls.

Had dinner at a brewery.

Found a bottled Pibb Xtra (they only have it in the fountain here).

Attended all my classes the entire week.

Met one of my most favorite girls EVAH!

Stood in a hailstorm/rain downpour for a stinkin' DONUT! (MiMi had a hood! She only took it off for the picture!)

Braved the world of voodoo.

Got honked at by a bus, for being in the bus lane in a car!

Hung out in a gay bar.

Sat in a hotel lobby gabbing until nearly 2 in the morning.

I can't wait to elaborate on my week in Portland. It really was a wonderful week, even if I did come home feeling like a truck is parked on my chest. I have some sort of nasty cough and sore throat - no beuno!

But it was so worth it! Especially the part about meeting MiMi! Yes people, she IS as fabulous in person as she is on the blog!

Stay tuned to hear all about it! I missed you!

I know this is going to sound weird, but I am so proud of you!!! It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Can't wait to hear all about it. I cracked up about you being "violated" by the airport scanning machine. HA! Best laugh I've had all day!

I don't even remember wearing that hood! LOL! I know I did, though, cuz it would have been dumb not too...that being said, I'm totally dumb!
You also saw some people who were possible Green River Killers!
And we did the "gay or not gay" game!
And...what else. UM, bottomed out so hard we hit the ceiling in the car! That was awesome!!
HEHEHEHEHEHE!! I just wish you weren't sick. BOOOOOOOO.

First time On a plane? Did you enjoy it- other than the porno scan- I have not been subjected to one of those yet.

So glad you had such a fun time and hope you feel better soon.
Is this post just to torture me? I think the answer is yes. Just think of the endless fun WE ALL 3 would have had together. That makes me feel a little bit better.

Wait...a gay bar? Really?

Was the donut worth the wait?

Wow....you really did have a packed week of firsts. I am jealous. I don't think I have ever done that many firsts at one time....although...I have at one time or another covered most of your list. Were the Voodoo donuts good?
Hold it! You were in Portland, and you didn't come to see me?????? ;) Sounds like you had a fabulous time!!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t...

Mod Podge to the Rescue

Have you noticed that eggs and nests seem to be a common theme in home decor - especially with people making some decor changes for spring? I've seen some pretty cute stuff! For example - what do you think of these? If you like this look, you can get it at Williams-Sanoma. You'll pay $36 for the eggs, and $68 for 1 glass hurricane. They don't include the greenery! Sheesh! Maybe you could go online and find the whole look, already put together, like this: You'll pay $39 for that teeny one, and if you'd like a larger one - you'll shell out $89! Good thing I'm the Queen of Mod Podge! Remember this beauty that I found at the DI for $5? Well, I gathered up my trusty mod podge, the left over scrap book paper from this project, some plastic eggs that I got for 79 cents at Walmart, and a bag of moss that was around $2, also from Walmart. I mod podged the eggs closed so they wouldn't pop open while I was working with them, then I cut the scrapbook paper into ...
