Reclaiming my life, bit by bit

So I've been working on getting the Mind Organization for Mom's program implemented in my life.  I'm taking a little longer than I probably should have, because it was really hard to focus on getting it completely set up during spring break for my kids last week!

I would say I'm doing the system about 70% right now.  That's not due to the program being hard to follow (because it's surprisingly simple once set up), only that I don't quite have all my crap sorted out that I needed to go through in order to get it all "plugged in" to the sytem.  <----- I know that doesn't really even make any sense, since ("sense since"?), you don't KNOW the system.  But I am already seeing big changes in my life.  I am still following the email system I told you about, and it is working like a charm!

I can't wait until I have the program fully implemented (like within the next couple of days...woohoo!), and then give you guys a review and also give a copy of the awesome program away to one of you!

One of the things that doing this has really helped me with, is seeing exactly where I commit my time.  It is all laid out before me as I categorize all the projects I am involved in, and it's been interesting and a little embarrassing to see how much time I spend on things that really aren't as important as they seem when I obsess over them - in comparison with the things that truly are important and meaningful.  It's really helping me prioritize my time and my commitments.  I think it is really going to bless my family.

That's about it for an update on my organization tackling...I'll have much more for you soon though!

Linking up with my girls!

I'm looking forward to learning more about your organizational prowess - I used to be mega organized until I had a kid, then Mommy Brain took over and organization went mostly out the window. ;)

You had me at organization!
I was wondering how that was going.....glad you are gaining some perspective. I wish I could pay someone to come organize my home. Forget my mind...I can take care of that...come take care of the overflow of crud!! :)

I could stand to be more organized. Looking forward to seeing what this system is all about.
Organization just makes me happy! I'm glad it's working out for you. Did you have to program in our date nights? We have two this week and I couldn't be more excited about it. =)

Thanks for linking up! You know we love your face!
I am excited to hear about it. I am, however, a little afraid that if I did the program, I would realize just how much time I waste on the unimportant stuff.

I do NOT want to see where I spend my time. I'd die of embarassment I bet.
I can't wait to see how it all works!

This is awesome! I agree that I'd probably be a little embarassed to see where all my time goes, eek!

I've been trying to de-clutter our space here. When we first moved in it was so nice an simple, now, not so much!
I know if I take a good, hard look at where I spend my time, I'll find that I waste a lot more of it than I realize.

I love being organized but that scars me a little. Does it take away the opportunity for spontaneity?

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t...

Mod Podge to the Rescue

Have you noticed that eggs and nests seem to be a common theme in home decor - especially with people making some decor changes for spring? I've seen some pretty cute stuff! For example - what do you think of these? If you like this look, you can get it at Williams-Sanoma. You'll pay $36 for the eggs, and $68 for 1 glass hurricane. They don't include the greenery! Sheesh! Maybe you could go online and find the whole look, already put together, like this: You'll pay $39 for that teeny one, and if you'd like a larger one - you'll shell out $89! Good thing I'm the Queen of Mod Podge! Remember this beauty that I found at the DI for $5? Well, I gathered up my trusty mod podge, the left over scrap book paper from this project, some plastic eggs that I got for 79 cents at Walmart, and a bag of moss that was around $2, also from Walmart. I mod podged the eggs closed so they wouldn't pop open while I was working with them, then I cut the scrapbook paper into ...
