Random Thoughts

Is it just me, or does it seem like the sunnier it gets, the COLDER it gets here in Utah?

But the clear air has sure made the view enjoyable. Here's a few shots I got of the mountains while Hubby and I were out and about running errands yesterday.

The 2 ladies I have attempted to start running with in the mornings are both 6 inches taller than me. I think it's mostly in their legs because I sure have a hard time keeping up with them! But being 5 paces behind is okay, since they manage to carry on a conversation while they're running, and I can barely keep from falling over dead into the gutter.

Okay, I have a random question for y'all. You know how jeans come in sizes like 10, 12, 14? So is between a 10 and a 12, one size, or two? Because there's also sizes 9, 7, 5. So if you go down from a size 8 to a size 7, did you go down a size, or did you go down half a size? I just really want to know. Give me your opinions everyone!

I was the ultimate white trash yesterday. I went to the post office to mail a package, but the box I had wasn't big enough. So when I got there, I picked up the next size up priority mail box, and transferred the stuff into it. Well it had space left over, and I needed a filler to keep everything from clanking around. So I scanned around the post office and what do I see? Oh, the rack of free Thrifty Nickel ads. Yep, I grabbed me a couple and wadded them up and used them to pack my package. To top it off, I got up to the counter and had to have the cashier tape it all up for me. I am so ghetto.

My mom came over to go shopping today...It should be a good time. We're getting supplies for my girls to make valentines for their classmates. I found the cutest idea on a blog - I'll post about it tomorrow and link up to hers!

Hope you all have a fabulous Tuesday.

Your moutains are amazing! That sounds weird, huh?
Anyway, yeah the pants sizes are weird...I always thought that the odd numbers were for junior or people with no hips and the evens were for women...and I have NO clue about whether they are 1/2 sizes or not.

I love your mountains! (shhh.dont tell anyone! LOL!)
and I have NO IDEA on the pant sizes! But if it's Me going down for a a 10 to a 9? I'm totally saying I went down ONE WHOLE SIZE! LOL!
Can't wait to see your valentine's projects! :)

The mountains in your area are stunning!

I think that 5, 7, 9 are juniors sizes and 6, 8, 10 would be misses sizes. My legs haven't fit into odd numbered jeans since junior high. Your friends must be part twiggy!

Your mountains are beautiful!
Sizes of jeans go like this - women's ( you know with the W by the number), misses (6,8,10,12,14) and juniors (those pesky odd numbers).

And like someone else said..my body hasn't been in the odd numbers since before kids. Bummer.

I also didn't know you run! I love running! Sometimes I blog about it on my second blog. ;)
Those views are amazing!!!

You are too deep for me. I had never stopped to ponder the difference in sizes!!!

Can't wait to see your Valentines. :)

I gotta say that when I eventually get these dingin' childbearing hips down from a 14 to a 12, I'm claiming that 2 sizes, dangit! I don't care if that's right or not...
What part of Salt Lake are you from? My hubby and I got married in the Bountiful temple, so I just wondered.

Beautiful mountains!
And they're right about the pant sizes...the odd numbers are juniors, so supposed to be for teenagers with no hips and perky boobs, i.e. they haven't given birth! But I do sometimes see things sized like this: 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, so I would say that, for instance, a seven is roughly the same size as an 8, but with a slimmer cut.

Oh, and clearly that is what the Thrifty Nickel is there for, so you did good!
My mom is taller than me and I have to run to keep up with her walk - durn tall folks!

I know that technically what Holly said is true about the sizing - same size, but slimmer cut, HOWEVER, I would totally lie and say I went down a size if I could fit my big ole butt in a junior size. I really wouldn't do that because I would hate to be that chick people talk about saying, "I am so embarassed for her. She is too old to be wearing that!" I could do a whole post on those women!

Stopping by from the Un Mom…

Sizes are something that manufacturers come up with in order to give that "illusion" that you are smaller than you are. There really is no consistency in what they number them as as well as what constitutes a given size.

Thank you for your randomness,

In the winter it really does get colder if it is sunny, the clouds help hold in the heat, so no clouds=more cold.
I used to stay up when I was little to watch the weather, yep I admitted it I am a geek.

Beautiful pics!

I found for sizes that the 5, 7, 9, 11...are junior sizes and no matter what size I am they never fit me right.
Those pictures are great!! Can't wait to see your valentines!!

I'm with all the others... the odd sizes are Juniors & the evens are Misses. Those odd #'s suck! They are sooo tight on my thighs & hips - oh I defintiely am not the little gal I once used to be. Sadly a good 30 lbs has made its home in my thighs, belly & hips. I sent an eviction notice but as the years go by I am getting the hint that they aren't about to go anywhere :(
Great pics of the mountains... I love that they are sprinkled with snow.
