Call me obsessed....

Okay, I know I should get over this...but I'm a little fixated.

I kinda feel like JennyKate and her Twilight!

NOW, not only is Evgeni Plushenko a big fat cry-baby, but so is his country and Prime Minister! Apparently the Russian people are up in arms over him taking the silver rather than the gold, and even Vladimir Putin had to get in a cheap shot saying to Plushi (new nickname courtesy of my friend Rachael) that his silver was as good as gold, and that he skated the most accomplished program on the Vancouver ice. Boooo! Poor sports!

However, Evan is proving to be much more gracious than myself, and this interview has endeared him to me even more. There is no way to embed this video, so you'll just have to follow the link. But trust me, if you take the time to watch this, you won't be disappointed. Here Evan proves that not only is he a champion, but a true role model as well. The grace and dignity with which he is handling this situation is inspiring, and to me is the true spirit of an Olympian. I am so proud to have him representing our country! I hope you take the time to enjoy! Hurry...go watch it! Right now!

Inspiring interview

Isn't he seriously adorable? I definitely heart him!

Thanks everyone for putting up with my Olympics fixation these past few days...love you!

Yep. We are watching every minute of it too.
Ohhh, you make me smile :) And so does Evan :) I love it when people handle a negative situation so positively. He's outstanding, for sure!

"Let's see if they let me into the country" sad but true...
Love it!

It's too bad for Yevgeny. I mean, he IS acting like a total infant, but this is only going to hurt his reputation and relationship with other skaters, but maybe he doesn't care about that. I read your first post about this. I am like you - I've watched figure skating all my life and while Yevgeny skated well, his grade of execution (like Scott Hamilton was saying) was less that Ethan's. It comes down to the tiniest things when you are neck-and-neck. And as Evan said, they scored the same for their 'artistic' scores, it came down to the technicality of their programs. Ethan wiped the ice with Yevgeny, mistake about that. Has Plushi (lol) even watched the video? Surely he would see the same things we did. To be so brazen and proud... And, Evan didn't front-load his program with most of his jumps like Yevgeny, he planned jumps after the 2:15 minute mark when they get 10% more credit for their jumps, to compensate for not doing a quad. Smart planning, excellent execution, clear winner. How can us non-skaters see that and he can't?

So nice to see when true athletes have sportsmanship. We should be so proud! I hope all other Americans are as proud of him... hope he gets LOTS of endorsments!!! As for the other guy... what a baby - I'd even say... TOTAL PUNK!
My hubby is obsessed with curling... he is so obsessed with it that this morning as he was jumping in the shower he says "you know I've watched too much curling when I was dreaming about it all night". Ha!

I loved the interview...very gracious young man indeed! Isn't this a fun couple of weeks? We may sneak up there on Saturday since it's only about three hours (and a country! haha) away.
What a cute guy! He handled everything so well!!!

XOXO
