Friend Makin' Monday!!

Friend Makin' Monday is back! Amber is being gracious enough to host while Kasey takes a little blogging break...either way it's so much fun...you should join in!

This week's question from Amber:

What are some of your favorite things about fall?

Oh...where to begin? Let me count the ways...

1. Fall Fashion! Although I would like it a lot better if I were skinny, I still love the cute jeans, sweaters, fab jackets and...boots!

These are my favorite pair of boots. I got them LAST fall to wear to the NKOTB reunion concert! Alas, they came off about 45 seconds into the first song...I could tell I would be on my feet the ENTIRE night, and decided the boots needed to go.

Don't I look glamorous modeling them in front of the bin of baby toys? What makes it even more glamorous is the fact that above the boot...I was wearing my purple robe because I just got peed on by Monkey who was sleeping on my lap while we were watching a movie, and I had to change.

2. Soup! I love soup, and I have some delicious recipes that I'm so excited to start making again...it's too hot in the summer for soup, but for fall...it's the perfect comfort food!

3. I know we all love the crisp air, and the beautiful colors of changing leaves...but seriously, there is nothing like the smell of the air, and the gorgeous colors of fall in the mountains in Utah. Not that I'm a world traveler or anything...but I just know!

Here's a couple pictures from the Wasatch Mountains - just a 20 minute drive and we're there!

4. Thanksgiving Dinner! Thanksgiving dinner is the best meal of the entire year! Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy...YUM-O! And it's even tastier because you get to share it with those you love, and reflect on all you have to be grateful for. I adore Thanksgiving.

The best thing about fall? It means CHRISTMAS is just around the corner! Just thinking about Christmas makes me giddy! I love everything about it, from the spiritual to the frivolous...I just adore it!

What are some of your favorite things about fall?

Everything you said is high on my list! I LOVE fall....well, not as much as Winter, but Fall is next in my book! I live in AZ so we don't really have fall...so I love all those things even more! I love the thought of being Thankful, I love the family get togethers. 2 of my children were born in the Fall. I fantasize about taking a vacation to Maine, in the fall to go on a hike through those gorgeous colors, or a drive over one of those scenic bridges...sigh.

I am enjoying loving fall for the first time in my life!
I lived my life in semesters for so long that fall was chore-get-serious-time.
Now? It's just lovely!

HI HI!!! I got mostly caught up with people last week, but I was saving you guys for the end (last is the best right?), and then I got redirected and have missed you!!! BUT I'm here now!! and WOW! you have been busy!! Here we go:

-oh. my. SAKE!! is T okay?? I'm on my way there next!!

-I love the boo blocks!!! They are my next project!! my friend saw yours and made some too and then I saw hers and now I've seen yours and now i need some for me!!! LOVE them!!

- I love the boots. I love the story, and I love the bin of baby stuff!! You're such a fabulous mom!!

-I love the fall in Utah too! It's weird in AZ the trees change and shed in the spring...just a little fun fact for you. I hate the cold. I'm not kidding. it's a deep and very dark hatred. But I love the colors and the smell!!! Oh how I love the smell of fall!!!

-Tips for you...hmm...Honestly. When I was losing weight (I've stopped and started moving in the other direction now - ha..er..eh) I would avoid all sweets. Not soda. I simply went to coke zero (LOVE) but sweets. When they passed them out in RS or at a party or at friends houses - just don't take them I know it sounds SO hard!! but it gets really easy to just pass them up after a while. PROMISE!!

lastly...Thank you. You don't know how much I appreciate you're love and support this month!! Thank you!!

Man! I missed out on FMMs again! I so have to get caught up AGAIN on blogging. I don't know what the deal is, but I can't seem to get my blogging mojo back!

I love fall too...and am welcoming it! I can't wait for cooler temps and the holidays!...oh, and more football, but hopefully the winning kind and not the kind that I experienced Saturday against your Cougars. :(
The boots!!!! I would even go to a NKOTB concert if you told me I got to have a pair of those boots. Fab!!!

(I agree: soup, fall colors, big dinner... all good.)

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t

Mod Podge Mania!

I am so super excited for our first edition of Mod Podge Mania! I love this stuff, and I LOVE getting new ideas for how to use it...so hopefully this will be a great place for "inspiration" where we can all get some fun new ideas! So here's how it will work. Post about a project on your blog, along with instructions on how you created your mod podge masterpiece! OR you can do a post featuring a project you have seen someone else do, just to pass the idea along. Just make sure you give credit where credit is due! Also, make sure to include a link back to my blog in your post! Next, link up by entering your name and copying the URL to your post into Mr. Linky - he's waiting at the bottom of this post. It would be helpful if you put the name of your project along with your name so people will know what they are coming to look at! (example: Xazmin - decorative eggs) Last, go check out everyone's fabulous projects and let the inspiration begin! You can link up as
