Word.

Everybody keeps blogging about their "word" for the year.  It's like the new-age version of New Year's Resolutions.  And since I am such a trendy girl, I am all over that!

Okay, really, I just thought it was a cool idea - to have a word that embodies an ideal that you'd like to implement for yourself over the course of the next year.

My word for 2012 is:

Discipline.

Discipline with what I put into my body,

and with regular exercise?  Word.

Discipline with keeping my house a warm, clean and inviting place,

and with accomplishing projects to get my home in order?  Word.

Discipline with feeding my spirit through scripture study, prayer, and implementing gospel principles,

and strengthening my relationship with God, my husband, and children?  Word.

Discipline is something I have lacked in my life, and it is something I have a great desire to cultivate in my personal character.

This is the year I become more disciplined!

No discipline when I'm there.
:)
I hate discipline. It's no fun at all. Like this non-drinking thing I've got going on. Or this no-take-out-food thing I've got going on. Or the no sugar rule.

DISCIPLINE SUCKS.

But it works! =)

I have to agree with the other girls...Discipline DOES suck!!!
BUT.......It ALSO makes you feel a WHOLE lot better about yourself when you use it too :)

Oh that is a good one. My first thought when I heard your word was- are her kids giving her trouble? :). But I like your explanation and meaning of it a lot.
Oh, that is a good one. I desperately need some of that myself. But, I refuse to actually type out a word of the year/resolution because I know that would mean immediate failure for me. Why? Because, as I said, I lack discipline. ;). I am sure you will do great with it though. You go girl! I am glad one of us is brave enough to post it.

Are you sure your word isn't WORD?

I could use a little, ok shut it, A LOT of discipline. Help me with that when I am there Mmmm K!
That's a great word. And some really important goals/objectives to go with it.

I think my word for this year is simply SURVIVE.

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t
