Friday Daydreamin' - on a Saturday. At Night.

I know I'm late for the party.  Yesterday was my sweet daughter's birthday, so I posted about her.

But I still want to play.  R we There Yet Mom? Asked about places we LOVE.

I haven't been a lot of places in my life.  I've only been to a handful of different states, and so far the only other state my kids have visited is Idaho, when we drive across the border to meet up with family for our bi-annual reunions.

But Even if I'd been around the world twice, I don't think there is anywhere I could love more than my beautiful mountains.  Except maybe somebody else's beautiful mountains.  I LOVE the mountains.  I love the smell, and the quiet.  I mean mountain quiet.  The animal sounds, and rushing rivers are part of the mountain quiet.  I love campfires and fishing and looking up into the sky and seeing the millions of stars that aren't visible from the city.

We are so blessed to be surrounded by gorgeous mountains on all sides, and to be able to hop in the car and drive for 20 minutes and be up the canyon in nature's beauty.  I hope to travel more someday, but even if I never get the chance, I think I can be content as long as I have my mountains.

I'm so jealous. Oklahoma has "mountains" but I'm not sure that people with REAL mountains would call them mountains. They are big hills. End of story.

When I went to Denver in December, I fell in LOVE with REAL mountains.

Love your pictures. BEAUTIFUL!

Every time we went to Utah we always made a trip up to the canyon. I love the mountains there. I want to take my kids there so they can experience it.

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t...

Called To Serve

Detroit, Michigan.  That's where my boy will be serving for the next 2 years.  Perhaps he won't be right in the city the whole time. Perhaps he won't spend any time in the city at all.  But the Michigan, Detroit mission is where he has been called to serve. I don't think it has completely hit me yet.  It's not really possible to comprehend the reality of Kaden being 1,600 miles away for 2 solid years with only written contact except for the 2 times a year he will be able to call/skype home.  Like, I literally can't imagine what it will be like or how it will feel.  I'm sure it's going to be hard at times, that I'll miss him like crazy and just want to hear his voice.  We've always had a close relationship and we talk about anything and everything.  It's hard to imagine only speaking in person 4 times over the next two years. But there is absolutely no place I'd rather have him be, and nothing else I'd rather have him doing than ...
