TTUT - Do you get excited about VD?

I got a text from a funny girl this morning.  It said "Happy VD" - totally made my morning!  What?  You don't joke incessantly about VD with your friends?  Whatever.

So is the big V-day a big deal around your house?  Here - not so much.  I mean we always get a little something for the kids, and help them get valentines prepared for their friends.  But really it's just another day around here - and I'm okay with that.  I'd rather my husband save his money to take me to soccer games.  And I KNOW he feels the same.  I probably will make him take me out to breakfast after I finish writing this post.  But that's more of a "craving Eggs Benedict" thing than a Valentine's Day thing.

Speaking of the kids' valentines.  Remember when I posted here about the last minute valentines that the kids and I put together?  Here's a reminder shot:

Well, we needed to come up with something for our really good friends who go to a different school as well.  And I wanted to do something a little more special than what the kids gave to their classmates.  I decided that we could give each of the kids a whole package of the cute Valentine's pencils with the cute little heart attached to it.  But as I went down the (extremely crowded) Valentine's aisle, I saw something even BETTER!  So here's what we did:

Don't you just love giant pencils??

Here's a size comparison:

I hope they like them!  And I hope Tanielle doesn't read my blog before we get a chance to deliver them!

In other news...I do have a Tackle It Tuesday I have been working on since LAST Tuesday - it's a biggie.  You'll have to wait until next week (I hope) for the reveal.

I'm linking up with the ever fabulous Shawn and IA for TTUT.

Seriously giant anything is better. And that definitely includes bars of chocolate...which I'm suddenly craving. Damn me for being so good at the grocery store last night.

Hope the kids love the VD gifts. And hope no one needs an antibiotic after VD day.

I am not a fan of the VD myself ;) I cannot stop saying it. Seriously...I'll stop.
I totally love to say Happy VD! And in high school, I really wished VD's on some skanky bitches.

I LOVED to write with ginormous pencils in school! That is a fabulous idea! I'm sure her friends will adore them!

Thanks for linking up with us Sweetness! xoxo

Oh I'd so be in. I love office supply type things, and pencils are included in that. Super cute. In fact I buy the giant ones for my step-daughter every time I find them.

VD...*snicker*

Valentine's is not a huge deal at our house, either. Usually keep it fairly simple.

And...you won my giveaway! Check your email~ I sent you info about how to get your "prize". :)

Darn it! jennykate77 beat me to the joke I was going to write. Glad I have a fellow dork around here. ;)

LOVE the giant pencils! And a great idea - I think I'll have to adopt that great idea for Princess Nagger next year. :)

Happy VD!

Those giant pencils are awesome! And I love the little quote that you attached to the gifts!!! Cute!!
I love the gint pencils AND the cute little heart quote! So precious! I didn't have time to do anything creative.

VD isn't a huge day around here either. I do not require presents. Although, I did get up and cook a good breakfast for them.

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t

I am so super excited for our first edition of Mod Podge Mania! I love this stuff, and I LOVE getting new ideas for how to use it...so hopefully this will be a great place for "inspiration" where we can all get some fun new ideas! So here's how it will work. Post about a project on your blog, along with instructions on how you created your mod podge masterpiece! OR you can do a post featuring a project you have seen someone else do, just to pass the idea along. Just make sure you give credit where credit is due! Also, make sure to include a link back to my blog in your post! Next, link up by entering your name and copying the URL to your post into Mr. Linky - he's waiting at the bottom of this post. It would be helpful if you put the name of your project along with your name so people will know what they are coming to look at!
