EM:ME

I didn't participate in EM:ME hosted by Amber last week, because it was Mod Podge Mania. BUT I am goin' strong. I've been walking with my mom - although we need better consistency!

I am down 3 lbs - so that's good...although I did have some birthday cake and spicy sausage and potato soup at my daughter's birthday dinner last night...I am so weak!

But today I'm being super good!

I've got a new little addiction that is helping to motivate me. Do you ever see REALLY cute outfits in catalogs, or on mannequins, or on T.V. and you think "that is so CUTE!" but it is immediately followed by the thought "that wouldn't look cute on me, because I'm fat". Yeah - that's me all the time. I love clothes - until I try them on, that is.

So, as shallow as it may be, the idea of wearing cute clothes motivates me. Last week I decided I would put together a collection of great stuff I'd like to wear and look good in - only I could only find a couple of things. Lacey did a cute fashion makeover for me back here. Because of that I discovered polyvore.com. I decided to put my own outfits together!

I've had so much fun with it...even though some of the stuff I could NEVER afford, other stuff is too young for me, or not my "modesty" standards (although I've tried, but do you know how hard it is to find a gown with sleeves on that sight?). But here are some of the things that I WOULD wear, if I were thin. Oh, and rich. If you click on any of them, you can go see all the stuff I've put together just for fun!

This is almost as addictive as blogging!

I print these out along with other pictures I've collected, and keep them in a "think thin" (slogan stolen from Tanielle!) jounal. I also record my progress, food diary, setbacks and successes in theis journal. So far it is really helping me stay focused and motivated.

How are you doing?

You're doing great....3 pounds is wonderful!!! And I love how you motivate yourself by printing out those outfits...they are very cute!!

I have no motivation whatsoever...you'd think me watching The Biggest Loser would make my get off my butt and work out. But no...last night I watched it while I ate oreos.
Yea on your 3 pound loss. That is awesome! Love all the outfits but the shoes in each one are my favorite. The pink ones in the one that Lacey had put together were the absolutely most favorite of them all.
Keep up the great work. Stay positive and don't say negative things to yourself or about yourself. EVER!! Hugs, Bobbi Jo
3 pounds is awesome!!! :) I am SO with you on looking at cute outfits and *wishing.* Guess I should stop thinking about it and do something, huh? Love your polyvore boards...I can't figure out how to do those--maybe I need to play around with them. :)
Cah-ute outfits!!!! I'm going to have to check that site out.

Those outfits are so cute. I love the first outfit. I did this when I was losing weight, i bought an outfit that was 1 size to small and hung it up in my room till it fit. Then I'd buy another outfit 1 size to small and do it all again. it works, till you get a boyfriend and gain it all back plus some. lol

Congrats on the 3 pounds! And I think it's okay to enjoy things like cake as long as we hop right back on track. :)

I could have lived without seeing polyvore because now I'm guessing I'll have a new addiction. Thanks for that. But seriously, it looks like fun...hehehe

That is AWESOME, Xazmin!!! It may seem shallow to some, but I think it's a fantastic way to keep motivated! We all need a "think thin" journal. (Great idea!) 3 pounds is great! Congrats!!

The outfits are totally cute and I want one of each! :)

Hope you're having a great week so far!!

Congrats on the loss of 3 pounds! You know, I found I feel better wearing the cute clothes even if I am not the weight I would love to be. Good luck with your diet!

A good addition to this is a very good program I have been using, Food And Exercise Diary (WeightLossSoftware.Com). It is a food diary, medical diary, and exercise diary. Lots of functions.

I would look so hot in those outfits...if I were thin! I feel the same way and am using the same technique to motivate me. Its coming up to summer here in Aus and I don't want to be the fat chick walking around in long sleeves and jeans one more summer!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t
