A picture's worth a thousand words...

I don't even really know what that means. Hmm.

Anyway. Thought I'd share a few pics with you today.
The first one is a nice little comparison. It started snowing on Saturday night. It was that big, soft, heavy, fluffy snow that makes everything completely still and silent. I took this picture a little before 10. The next picture was taken about 7 the next morning by Hubby. It is the same angle, one is just a little further away. If you notice my swing in the first picture, it just has a little snow, and on the left, closer to the camera are the dormant grasses and flowers starting to get covered. In the second picture those same grasses are that big lump of white in the lower left corner! And to the right that is not a bush, that is a big oak branch in the middle of the road! It was fabulous and crazy all at the same time! Needless to say it made me giddy! Oh how I love this time of year!

I'm watching the news as I type this - they just announced the widest spread winter storm warning in recorded history. I hope we don't lose our power! Some people did with the first round!!

The rest of these were taken by Cowgirl. She took photography 101 in Discovery this month. I was really impressed with what she learned! She's better than I am, that's for dang sure. Anyway, she LOVES it. I'm thinking I sense a new hobby/talent developing? Which, afterall, is the whole point of Discovery. I love my school.

It's hard to believe that these pictures were just taken within the past 2 weeks. Sunshine, no jackets, leaves on the ground and then BAM! Winter Wonderland!

It all just adds to the wonderful holiday season. I'm so excited for Thanksgiving - especially with so much to be grateful for. I'm especially grateful that my brother is hosting Thanksgiving Dinner at his house, and all I have to bring is creamed corn! and it's not the gross kind of creamed corn either. It is super easy, and super delicious!!

What are all your plans for Thanksgiving? Anybody venturing out on Black Friday?
I am! It is the most wonderful time of the year after all! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Wow! Those snow pictures are beautiful! And Cowgirl's are fantastic... I'm really impressed.

Stay warm, and Happy Thanksgiving. We'll be eating dinner on our patio tomorrow night. It's so cold here that we're going to have to turn on the outdoor heater. :)

It was 84 degrees here the day before Thanksgiving. I don't know which I would prefer...
For Christmas, I would definitely prefer a winter wonderland!
I am in awe of those pictures! I think if they had a special Ed class for photography, I would need to be in there...
You got snow? I am so jealous! It's been cooler here the past week or so, but nowhere near cold enough for snow. Sooo pretty!

Wow! Cowgirl did great taking those pictures. Love the mailbox one! You may have a professional in your midst!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t
