I've Arrived!

I mean, I must have arrived to be featured over at Serenity Now...right?

I'm thrilled to be sponsoring a Ribbon Blossoms giveaway hosted by the fabulous Amanda - go check it out for your chance to win!

In other news...I spent 11 hours at 2 different ER's yesterday. That's right I got sent from one ER to the next.

Pixie has been having severe abdominal pain in her right lower quadrant. Yeah, that area of appendicitis fame. Between 3 hours at the first hospital, who determined that they were worried by her symptoms, even though her labs came back normal, (but they don't do pediatric surgery there) - and 8 hours at the next hospital they sent us to - well...it was a loooooong night.

After all that and IV's and tests, and CT scans - they determined that appendicitis was not the culprit. Which yes - a relief. What would have been MORE of a relief is if they could have told us what IS causing the pain.

So we still have no answers, but were assured that most of the things that are really serious were ruled out by the CT scan. That's good, but I still wish I could make my daughter feel better! Hoping that whatever it is passes soon.

Thankfully we have wonderful family support - after leaving Pixie and I at the first ER to go pick up the other kids from school, Hubby dropped them at my moms. Thank goodness for school uniforms! My mom had them all put on big long T-shirts and washed the clothes and underwear they were wearing, and they were able to get ready for school at her house this morning and Hubby just picked them up from there and took them to school. Wearing the same outfit they wore yesterday? Not a problem!

Hope everybody's having a good week - I'm off to go snuggle with my daughter.

I hope that the doctors can figure out what's wrong with Pixie soon. :( It's so scary to see your kids in pain. But thank God for helpful family!!

Did they test her for Celiac? When "the big one" had similar symptoms, they tested her for gluten intolerance. It can be painful, but relatively easily controlled with diet.
Poor sweetie. Hope they figure it out soon.

I came to you through Amanda @ Serenity Now. Wow. Scary stuff. I've been there. My now 8 yr old had her appendix out when she was 6 - everything that could have gone wrong did and she missed 5 weeks of first grade. It was a terrible experience - but she's fine now. SO glad Pixie doesn't have appendicitis! Hope they figure it out soon!

I hope your daughter will feel better soon. It's got to be a terrible feeling to have a child in pain and not be able to know what is wrong.

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t
