Dear Someone and cute cupcakes...

Dear Bloggy Friends (again),

It has been 1 week since my last blog entry. (If this sounds like confession, it is). Please forgive me. Holy Smokes! 1 whole week? What the heck is up with that?

The truth is, I've been dealing with some, shall we say interesting situations, that have kept me a little distracted.

But I'm missing ya, and had to make some time to tell you all!

I hope you are all doing well, and will welcome me back (again), and forgive my blogging slackiness. Please?

Yours Truly,
Xazmin

Dear MiMi,

I cannot BELIEVE you have never heard "This Cowboy's Hat" by Chris LeDoux. That is like, a country classic. My brother used to listen to it over, and over, and OVER!

Since it was your result for "which country song are you?", I have generously posted the song below so that you may listen!

Pretty good, eh? I mean it's OLD, but still.

Plus...Chris Ledoux? Ca-UTE!

Hope you enjoyed!

Your friend for life,

Xazmin

Dear Amanda,

I am such a poor bloggy friend. I am so sorry I haven't linked up to the Show Me The Progress party! I was really looking forward to it! I had my girls' room all but ready! I feel like such a loser.

It looks like you got a good turnout - do you think you will do it again? I hope so. Sorry for being a slacker.

Love,

Your ever faithful, if not very diligent friend,

Xazmin

I wanted to quickly share a fun, simple way to dress up your cupcakes. Now I KNOW that this isn't new or revolutionary...but I thought I'd show you my take on it.

My mom needed some cupcakes to take to a Relief Society activity last night, and asked me to help her out. I told her I knew just the thing to make them super cute, but not spend forever doing some eloborate decorating. Let me apologize in advance for the super crappy pictures. I couldn't find my camera, and had to use the cell phone.

I started off puting my handy, dandy Cricut (not Cry-cut MiMi), cutter to work. I cut some cute flowers in different colors and styles. I wanted 12 flowers, so I cut 24, and then pasted them back to back with a toothpick in the middle so they would be double sided. I've heard flat toothpicks work best, but Walmart only had round, and they still worked.

I made the flower centers contrasting colors, and matched the cupcake frosting to the centers.

Then, inspired by Amanda's cupcake icing tip, and armed with some cute flower sprinkles, I frosted the cupcakes, and inserted one of my flower picks into the center of each one. I think they look pretty cute...how 'bout you?

I hope you are all having a wonderful week! It's almost Friday...Yay!

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t
