Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I'm confessing this week.  Yeah, I need a little soul-cleansing.

I confess that I have been listening to Christmas music for weeks!  And it makes me giddy!

I confess that I am listening to it right now!  David Archuleta's Christmas From the Heart is fabulous - just FYI.

I confess that my next confession may make people want to punch me....but I confess that for me, Halloween is just something that needs to be endured to get to the REAL Holiday season.  Yup, that's me - I do it for the kids, but I wouldn't be sad if Halloween got cancelled forever.

I confess that even though Halloween is not my favorite - I do put a lot of effort into helping my kids come up with costumes - and I'm sorta proud of how they turned out this year: (prepare for picture overload)

And I'm not gonna lie - I am the most proud of turning Cowgirl into a Major League Soccer Player - our own team captain, Kyle Beckerman!

I had to do the lettering out of sticky foam sheets because Bookworm didn't want his RSL jersey permanently lettered!

The temporary dreads took me all morning, but they definitely were the perfect touch, along with the eyebrows and goatee!

And this is my favorite photo, taken at the team store next to a mural of Kyle - I can hardly tell the difference!

I confess that I totally just used Friday confessional to show off my kids and their costumes!

I confess that I'm trying to make my post sound more cheerful than I actually feel.

I confess that I am dreading tonight.  It is not okay to be going to the viewing for a 13 year old boy.  Especially when he is a former student at our school, and his siblings still attend, and I have a 13 year old boy of my own.  I hate it.

He was struck by a car on his way to school Wednesday morning.  You can read the article here, if you're in the mood to cry.

I confess that I can't begin to understand why these things have to happen.  And to such good people.

I confess that I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ at times like these, and I don't know how people deal with the tragedies of life without that knowledge and comfort to bring them peace.

I confess that I really need to lighten the mood of this post now.

I confess that I think it was super hilarious of me to send MiMi this creepy satanic cat after her post about the mean cats.  Don't y'all think it was hilarious?

I confess that I also thought it was super hilarious that one of her readers was offended, and compared hating cats to laughing at a handicapped person.  Really?  WTHeck?

I confess that every day since I made a commitment to eat better in order to lower my cholesterol, I have started out with a really healthy breakfast.  Then, by the end of the day I have consumed pizza, or french fries, or a spicy chicken sandwich - something that is the complete opposite of heart healthy food.  Let's see how today goes, shall we?

I confess that my house is a ginormous disaster, but I am so eager to put Christmas decorations up that I feel very motivated to get it whipped into shape the next couple of days.  Anybody wanna come help?

And finally - I confess that I called the cops on a guy who is renting a room from my across the street neighbor.  He wrecked his car, while DRUNK - then didn't call the police.  And there is a huge "head print" in the passenger's side of his front windshield!  Would you have done the same?  I think if someone is hurt or worse, there should be something done about it.  So call me a tattle tale, but I did what I thought should be done.

What do you have to confess?  Go check out Mamarazzi's blog for more confessions, or to link up!

Okay, your confessions were awesome! I too have been listening to Christmas music (since Saptember). I too greatly dislike Halloween and even told my kids this year that I think they should do away with it. But I too also put tons of work into their costumes. Blah, why do we do that?

I'm bringing up a few Christmas decorations this weekend, but only after I get my house cleaned up too!

And that is so SO sad about that boy who was hit on his way to school.

I need to go read that article....going to the viewing...I don't know how you did that. I couldn't have done that. At all. :(

I just got a little bit, or a lot, sick to my stomach by looking at the shoes. : (
I couldn't watch the video. I can't imagine the pain (and that's having Jesus to get me through...) The people who don't just break my heart. I'm so sorry for your loss. :( On a lighter note, the kids look fab and I am looking forward to Christmas music too, but I won't let it start up until after Thanksgiving. xoxo

I cannot even begin to understand the pain a parent feels at the loose of a child. Sadly, I have several friends and family members who have had to bury their own children, it's just not right!

I'll pray for healing and comfort for that family!

Love the costumes, I think the skeleton ballerina is my favorite!
Great confessions! And can I confess, my diets often turn out the same...excellent morning, fairly good afternoon, evening spent scarfing down enough crap to make up for the rest of the day! You're not alone!
First, I am soo sorry about that boy. I cannot bring myself to read the article though. So sad!

Second, I am TOTALLY impressed with the kiddos costumes. You go girl!!! They look FAB! AND, I totally agree with you on Halloween. Bring on the real holidays.

AND, third, I hate cats. I'm a dog lover fo sure. I sure should be. I've got 8 dogs right now, okay techinically it's 1 dog and 7 puppies, but still.

I cannot get over Cowgirl's costume. Those dreds are killing me. So cute!
