Dear Someone

Dear Lady in the parking lot at school, It would be nice if you would take responsibility for your own garbage. Last week, when you got into your trunk to get a diaper bag, a big wad of trash fell out onto the ground. I know you saw it. Do you want to know how I know? Because I watched you close the trunk, look down, and make a point to step over the garbage and walk back to your door and get in. Did you know one of our school's core values is Respect? How do you suppose our children are to learn respect if we don't model it for them? They certainly won't learn it by seeing their parents leaving their litter lying in the gutter at school. Shame on you. Disappointed in you, The mama who worked her tail off for 2 years before the school even opened, to make a lovely place for your children to go to school. Dear Blogger, I love you. I hate you. I can't decide. Why is it that you're so cruel? Do you know what's mean? Erasing my followers. Yeah, when I log ...

It's Decorating Dilemma time again!

I can't believe it's already time for another edition of Amanda's Decorating Dilemmas Party! We all post about a dilemma we are facing, or some helpful decorating solutions, and go over to Amanda's to link up and share our thoughts with each other. So c'mon! Last time I got such great feedback, I know just what I want to do with my front porch! Thanks ladies! So, I'm going to show something I have been ashamed, embarrassed, horrified to show on this here blog. I. hate. my. kitchen. The previous owners did a hideous decorating job. It is blue and white. Not that that's so bad in and of itself, but they painted the top cupboards white, and the bottom ones blue. Who does that? As if that weren't enough, they put this hideous country apple border around the top, and it's peeling off! So my intentions for this room are to completely remove the border, and repaint all the walls and cupboards. I'm doing a country red, baby maize yellow, and sage green,...

I'm trying to be better at this!

Y'all know what an award slacker I tend to be...always flattered to be selected, but lazy when it comes to posting and passing them on! So...I'm trying to be better! First up, I was honored to receive the following award from Shortmama . I love that girl...she is funny, and true to herself and her beliefs, and if you've never visited her, well, you really need to! There aren't any particular rules to this award...so I'm just going to pass it along to Kari at U Create . It really is the Best Blog for amazing ideas and tutorials. She trolls through blogland and when she see's something awesome...she blogs about it and directs you to the blog where she found it. I have gotten so many amazing ideas from this awesome blog! And I have to also pass this to my adorable friend JennyKate . She seriously rocks. She shares my deep and abiding love for NKOTB, and that is just the beginning of her awesomeness. I'm giving her this award because I LOVE and MISS reading her...

Friend Makin' Monday!!

Friend Makin' Monday is back! Amber is being gracious enough to host while Kasey takes a little blogging break...either way it's so much fun...you should join in! This week's question from Amber: What are some of your favorite things about fall? Oh...where to begin? Let me count the ways... 1. Fall Fashion! Although I would like it a lot better if I were skinny, I still love the cute jeans, sweaters, fab jackets and...boots! These are my favorite pair of boots. I got them LAST fall to wear to the NKOTB reunion concert! Alas, they came off about 45 seconds into the first song...I could tell I would be on my feet the ENTIRE night, and decided the boots needed to go. Don't I look glamorous modeling them in front of the bin of baby toys? What makes it even more glamorous is the fact that above the boot...I was wearing my purple robe because I just got peed on by Monkey who was sleeping on my lap while we were watching a movie, and I had to change. 2. Soup! I l...

What? Christmas?

Okay...I know we're all just gettin' in the groove for Fall...and I don't want to skip it...for sure - I love it too much! But I just found this Christmas Blog (Christmas is the best thing on the planet!), actually she found me, and she is having a fabulous giveaway! It's for $100 worth of Christmas ornaments! I KNOW, right? So here's the deal, if you go over and leave her a comment, and say you were sent by me, we both get entries into the giveaway...cool, eh? So go HERE ...right now! Thanks!

Dollar Tree Rocks!

Don't ya just love the dollar store? We just got back from a little family excursion (minus husband). The kids each got to take one of their dollars and pick something out. This is like the best thing ever, because we don't let them spend their money very often...we make 'em save it! Cowgirl was super excited, because she has been looking for a hula hoop ALL. SUMMER. LONG! They are always sold out whenever we are at any store that carries them. Anyway...we go down the first aisle at the DT and whadayaknow? There's a whole big box of hula hoops in various colors and sizes! She keeps telling everyone it was a miracle from Heaven! Pixie found a lovely (not) bright orange hair piece connected to a headband. It even has long sparkly strands of tinsel throughout! She looks well...there are no words. Monkey picked a fabulous pair of plastic glass slippers, with a huge beautiful bow and jewel in the middle. She put them on imediately upon walking into our house! Bookworm spent...

It's coming...
