Friday Confessional...

Time to get it all off my chest and confess.

I confess...

I'm more than a little jealous of those who are living in sunny states right now.  It is gray, and dreary, and cold in my neighborhood.

I confess...

I'm getting a little frustrated with all of the inaccurate things that are being said/printed about Mormons in the media lately.  Yesterday I read an article, and want to know what I learned about myself?  Apparently I am conservative due to my lack of education, and I hate women and black people.

I confess...

Reading the comments left on that article was even more disturbing as I learned that I also brainwash my children with subliminal messaging techniques, and perform rituals to create slaves for myself in the after life.

I confess...

Slowly getting some remodeling done in my house in preparation for several different house guests I will be having over the next few months is cheering me up.  Although overwhelming me at the same time.

I confess...

I just committed to another huge undertaking.  It is something so worthwhile, but it will definitely be overwhelming, and I'll be blogging about it a lot, and asking for help and advice in the upcoming months.

I confess...

It's going to be hard on my family and me to have my little brother move to North Dakota. He is on his way now.  We are used to seeing him at least once a week, usually more than that, and he is so very good to my kids.  Not sure what they're going to do without him!
Here he is teaching them how to cause mischief at my other brother's wedding.

I confess...

I have contracted the plague and am hacking my guts out, so I am going back to bed.  I will be by to visit everyone later!

Getting remodeling projects done feels good, the process not so much.
Hope you feel better soon.

Yes, it is crazy what is being said- I try not to read the comments as they are always worse and stupid and full of hate and ignorance.
Hope everyone gets better soon!

Don't be too jealous of us. We'll be sweltering in a super hot summer and won't even have the memories of the cold winter to look back on. Sigh. I'm wishing for some cold nights!

Your brother looks like he's a great uncle! I wish my brother lived closer so he could get to know my future kids.

Personally, the stuff they're saying is all just fodder for my enjoyment. I am so amused by it...it's ridiculous. If you are a Christian, you are under fire.
It's best to be a heathen who does stuff unapologetically these days if you want anything in life. The lower the scum you are the better you get.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother...going to a different state I mean....and he's not older, right?
It's really disappointing to read the lies about the church. Especially by people who know better.

I'm sorry your brother moved away. My little sister is off at school on the east coast and I'm happy for the adventures she's enjoying, but I miss her.

Don't be jealous of our sunshine because I suspect this is only the preliminary to a stifling hot and humid longer summer than usual since we sort of skipped through winter with spring-like weather.

The remodeling project will definitely be a cheering-up thing...though definitely overwhelming.

Awwww! Sorry your little brother moved away - that's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to returning to the West Coast next year so I can annoy my little brother and have him annoy my kids like only a little brother can do. ;)

Hand Made for Fall - A party and a Giveaway!

I've been a busy girl! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for Fall, and when my fab friend Heidi revealed that her Monthly Craft Challenge for October would be Fall-themed crafts, I thought "YES! I will do a giveaway of Fall items - handmade by me!" So today I'm linking up with Heidi , and introducing my Handmade For Fall Giveaway as I show you what I've made for Heidi's party ! Sound good? First, a while back I showed you some coasters that I made, but it was clear back when I first started blogging, so I'm going to show you again with this new seasonal set! This idea has been floating around blog land, and I've seen several different variations. Here's how I do it. You will need: paper napkins, 4x4 ceramic tiles, 4x4 cork squares, MOD PODGE (what else?), sponge brushes (not shown), and polyurethane (not shown). Start by cutting your napkin down to a manageable size, slightly bigger than your tile. Next spread a layer of mod podg onto the t

What would a party be without us BOTH?

Y'all didn't really think we were gonna party seperately did you? Not when we have so much fun TOGETHER! And it's better this way, because it means you have TWO chances to win an awesome Blogiversary giveaway! One year ago today, Tanielle and I both started blogging. For me, I thought it might be a good way to promote our hairbow busines. But I quickly learned that the true value of my blog was in the wonderful women I've met and the wonderful friends I've made - some who have even become close friends outside of Bloggerville. I've laughed, cried, been inspired, and received the best comments from some of the smartest, funniest, kindest ladies I've ever known. Thank you all for all of it! And thank you Tanielle for partying with me, and for being one of the people I've had the most fun with in my life. Ever. 10 things I love about Tanielle 1. I love that she shares a maturity level equivalent to mine (in it's near non-existence!) 2. I love that s
