Welcome friends! It's time to party...mod podge style! Let's review the rules for playing:
Mod Podge Mania is a way for us to share and receive some fabulous ideas for using Mod Podge. Therefore, it makes sense that not only should we link up, but then we should follow up. By that, I mean - get out there and visit! You never know what amazing project might be just a link away!
Make sure to include a link back to our party in your post. You may link up any project, old or new, but please, if you use an old post, update the post to include a link back to our party, and maybe do a current post explaining about Mod Podge Mania so your regular visitors will know where to find the party.
Let's go! I haven't been blogging very regularly, but I hope we still get a decent response!
I've decided to share a project that I did blog about previously, but it was way back at the beginning of my blogging career (you like how I've labeled it a career?), so I'd like to share it again.
This Mod Podge recipe tin is a fun gift my mom and I love to give at bridal showers.
You start off with a plain white tin purse (at least that's what they're called in the Oriental Trading Co. catalog). I ordered mine from OTC, but you can pick them up at any craft store as well.
Then round up some decorating and embellishing supplies. My standards I like to use are coordinating scrapbook papers and tags/letters, as well as some coordinating ribbon for the handle. You could also use some 3D embellishments like buttons and flowers as well.
Cut your paper to fit around the box, and also a piece for the top if you'd like. I've done these with the top plain, and decorated. It turns out cute either way. I like to tear and layer a couple different papers. Adhere paper to your box with Mod Podge. Also stick on any lettering or other flat embellishments you want to use. top with 2 or more coats of Mod Podge to seal it all up nicely. Then add any 3D embellishments, like flowers, if you would like.
I like to tie several ribbons along the handle to give it a fun look. Make sure to seal your ribbon ends with fray stop or a lighter so they won't fray.
My mom and I have a collection of favorite tried and true recipes that we've accumulated over the years, and we print them up and give them to our loved ones in this cute litte recipe tin. It's always a hit!

My mom has been repremanding me about my lack of blogging. I know I deserve it.
The thing is, I have a situation I am involved in that is really consuming so much of my time and energy. But I am here. I do miss you. And rather than making promises that I'll be better at blogging, just know that I will blog as much as I can, and visit when I am able to.
I really love all my bloggy friends, and hope you don't leave me for my lack of blog activity recently!
I also want to remind everyone that Mod Podge Mania has snuck up on me again! Please be sure to come back tomorrow and link up your projects! Also, spread the word so we can have as many partiers as possible!

Thank you SO much for getting me a signed copy of Mitt's new book! I know you just gave it to me this morning at our budget meeting, but I have already started reading it! I am enjoying it very much.
I know a lot of bloggers tend to shy away from blogging about politics (unless they have a political blog), and I generally don't get into it too much - but I am proud of the things I believe in, so I let it sneak in here once in awhile.
Speaking of...PLEASE start updating your blog more often. I have mentioned you before on my blog, and how much I look up to you, and how much your blog inspires me, and makes me think. But I need more!
So, you already have my undying gratitude for the awesome gift above, but imagine how deep my gratitude will be if you start blogging more! So get to it...mmmkay?
Thanks - the one who wants to be like you when she grows up,
Dear Under-eye Bags,
You suck. I don't know how to get rid of you. Can I tell you how annoying it is to look at a picture of myself and realize you make me look like a 90-year old woman?
It's not fair...you shouldn't be so prominent for at least another 57 years! I've just started noticing you in some of my recent pictures and was horrified! So then I started looking back through my past pictures. Guess what?
You've been around for WAY too long! Seriously, what business do you have being in my engagement pictures? I was 19 for crying out loud!
So please, could you just go away already?
I'm linking up to Shortmama's Dear Someone - go check it out for more letters, or to link up yourself!

I often ask myself if any of you would continue to read my blog if you knew what an idiot I was in real life. And I do mean I ask myself often.
Case in point: Tanielle and I had a little girls' night in the other night. Our girls' nights always include giant Dr. Peppers. It has to be a Dr. Pepper from the Holiday around the corner and up the street. There are closer places to get a fountain Dr. Pepper, but the best fountain Dr. Pepper is from the Holiday around the corner and up the street. Just in case you were wondering.
We spent a good portion of the night documenting the glory of the Dr. Pepper. Yes, she's still my friend even though I'm an idiot. As you can see...she's one too.

Time to link up to MiMi's meme! Hahaha...I'm so clever. Okay - I have been looking forward to doing this post since this incident happened. Now WHY would I be looking forward to it? You may ask.
Simply this...it's not me who looks like a fool in this story!
Picture this: I'm sitting in the living room with my family when there's a knock at the door. I see through the peep hole that it is Lexlie, daughter of my very dear friend Tanielle. Lexlee and Cowgirl happen to be very good friends, but they attend different schools and don't get to see each other often, so Cowgirl is excited to see her. I'm thinking that Tanielle sent Lexlee in to pick up her house keys that we had from when Hubby cleaned their carpets a few days earlier. So I reach down to get my purse, and I see Tanielle drive off. Color me confused.
Lexlee steps into the house and is just sorta standing there. I proceed to try to figure out what is going on.
Me: Hi Lexlee. What ya doin'?
Lexlie shrugs her shoulders.
Me: Um, did you come to pick something up?
Me: Where did your mom go?
Lexlee shrugs her shoulders.
Me: Did you come to drop something off?
I ask a few more questions in an attempt to figure out what the heck is going on, but I start to worry I'm making Lexlee feel bad, or uncomfortable or something.
So finally I ask, "Did you come to play?"
"Yes", she replies.
Me: "Great, well, come on in and play."
Cowgirl is overjoyed...a playdate and she didn't even have to nag!
I step out onto the porch and call Tanielle on her cell phone. It goes a little something like this:
Me: Um, did I forget about something? (Keep in mind that at this point I am considering the very REAL possiblity that we planned something and I just completely spaced it - I'm losing my mind, after all.)
Me:Did you just drop Lexlee off at my house?
Me: Well, she is totally welcome, but, did I invite her over? (Still thinking that I am the idiot in this scenario.)
Tanielle: Didn't you?
Me: Well, I very well could have and just forgot! But I seriously don't remember that.
Tanielle: It was just barely...like 5 minutes ago!
Well I'm not THAT crazy...I know I wouldn't have forgotten 5 minutes ago!
Tanielle: It was from your cell phone, you called my home phone, and I saw it was your number, and when I picked it up it was Cowgirl asking for Lexlee, and I gave her the phone. Then Lexlee said "She wants me to come over and play". So I brought her over!
I go into the house and ask Cowgirl if she called Lexlee and invited her over without asking me first. She says "no". Lexlee says, "yes you did! Well my mom gave me the phone and said it was you!"
I am now laughing hysterically, I get back on the phone with Tanielle and say "Um it wasn't me".
Tanielle says "Well then who the crap called me?" By now she is back home and looks on her home phone. Yeah, it wasn't me. It was another cell phone that has the same area code and prefix as my number, but Tanielle just recognized the first part of the number and thought it was me! So when she handed Lexlee the phone, she told her it was Cowgirl. Next Tanielle says "Now who the crap invited Lexlee over? There's some poor little girl sitting at her house waiting for me to drop her off!"
They eventually figured out who it was, and straightened it out, and Lexlee left, with the plan for her to return in a few days to play at our house. Cowgirl was disappointed, poor Lexlee was traumatized my by interrogation, Tanielle was dying of embarrassment, and I was laughing my head off.
All in all, a pretty good cuss word moment, wouldn't you say?

Dear Bloggy Friends (again),
It has been 1 week since my last blog entry. (If this sounds like confession, it is). Please forgive me. Holy Smokes! 1 whole week? What the heck is up with that?
The truth is, I've been dealing with some, shall we say interesting situations, that have kept me a little distracted.
But I'm missing ya, and had to make some time to tell you all!
I hope you are all doing well, and will welcome me back (again), and forgive my blogging slackiness. Please?
I cannot BELIEVE you have never heard "This Cowboy's Hat" by Chris LeDoux. That is like, a country classic. My brother used to listen to it over, and over, and OVER!
Since it was your result for "which country song are you?", I have generously posted the song below so that you may listen!
Pretty good, eh? I mean it's OLD, but still.
Plus...Chris Ledoux? Ca-UTE!
Hope you enjoyed!
Your friend for life,
I am such a poor bloggy friend. I am so sorry I haven't linked up to the Show Me The Progress party! I was really looking forward to it! I had my girls' room all but ready! I feel like such a loser.
It looks like you got a good turnout - do you think you will do it again? I hope so. Sorry for being a slacker.
Your ever faithful, if not very diligent friend,
For more Dear Someone's head over to Shortmama's!
I wanted to quickly share a fun, simple way to dress up your cupcakes. Now I KNOW that this isn't new or revolutionary...but I thought I'd show you my take on it.
My mom needed some cupcakes to take to a Relief Society activity last night, and asked me to help her out. I told her I knew just the thing to make them super cute, but not spend forever doing some eloborate decorating. Let me apologize in advance for the super crappy pictures. I couldn't find my camera, and had to use the cell phone.
I started off puting my handy, dandy Cricut (not Cry-cut MiMi), cutter to work. I cut some cute flowers in different colors and styles. I wanted 12 flowers, so I cut 24, and then pasted them back to back with a toothpick in the middle so they would be double sided. I've heard flat toothpicks work best, but Walmart only had round, and they still worked.
I made the flower centers contrasting colors, and matched the cupcake frosting to the centers.
Then, inspired by Amanda's cupcake icing tip, and armed with some cute flower sprinkles, I frosted the cupcakes, and inserted one of my flower picks into the center of each one. I think they look pretty cute...how 'bout you?
I hope you are all having a wonderful week! It's almost Friday...Yay!

Dear Bloggy Friends,
I have missed you! I am so sorry it's been so long, but my stinkin' computer DIED on Monday! Then there was a lot of drama in replacing it, and I didn't have internet access, and I went nearly insane feeling like I was "out of it" with all my favorite blogs, and I feel like I've missed so much!
I promise that I love you, and have not forgotten you. I am working on getting around to visit everyone, just give me some time!
I hope you still love me,
The new thing at Best Buy is this: They are really pushing the Asus brand laptop. Don't do it. I fell for all their fancy talk about Asus being top of the line, and making all the components for all the other brands. I gave in, and then regretted it. I had my Asus laptop for less than 20 minutes before deciding I hated it. Fortunately my computer fix-it guy gave me his opinions, one of which happened to be "if I were to go buy a laptop today, it certainly wouldn't be an Asus". I took my Asus back the next day (which added another torturous day of no internet!) and purchased my new HP which I LOVE!
The Girl who hopes you learn from her mistakes.
Brilliant! How excited am I that THIS guy will be a contestant on the upcoming season of DWTS?
If y'all don't know who Evan Lysacek is, (are you living under a rock or something?) go find out here, and see why I love him so much!
The one who will be tuning in, (and this time I mean it!),
Evan's #1 fan.
Dear jerky computer hackers,
I can't believe you hijacked the code for my Ribbon Blossoms website. You totally messed up the giveaway I was planning, because now people can't browse my site without being constantly redirected to a bunch of spam websites. Thanks a lot. Seriously, don't you have anything better to do with your time?
The ticked off Blogger.
